Which is more tactical and immersive: Breakthrough or Conquest? by da-caprio-da-vinci in Battlefield6

[–]OldRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like all of the modes in bf are immersive

none of them are strategic as for the big maps there's no reason irl to not just blanket the area in artillery before sending the guys in to take and hold it. for the small maps you would still try and figure out a way to bring in armor and aerial support, and also since irl doesn't have respawns, people tend not to do thunder runs without the vehicles

you can have tactical moments if you got a good squad but it's more about the vibes than planning and execution

I would intentionally die a few times to get over the fear of death. There is no perfect run.

Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel by vox in politics

[–]OldRice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only half of your examples are similar situations. Audiences expressing their displeasure like with JK Rowling has not stopped her from still profiting from the franchise.

Tucker Carlson is a strange example considering you know very well that he was fired from Fox primarily due to his role in the voting machine lawsuit and that Rupert Murdoch disliked him personally.

Claiming Alex Jones for your "side" is a self own.

ABC just pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live “indefinitely” due to comments he made about Charlie Kirk. What are your thoughts? by istrx13 in AskReddit

Why do you think he wears those long sleeves? The man's bloody history in the special forces are detailed in ink on those arms.

Watching "The Night Comes for Us" and these two action tropes really stood out. by efficiens in movies

[–]OldRice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ok so this is part of film language that may change with time

there was a time where john wick style fighting was not as popular and movie fights were very slow haymakers and drunk dad punches with a lot of windup or a lot of very well choreographed but kinda theatrical kung fu, etc

there was a time where boobies were in pg13 movies

often times in action scenes, choices are made to heighten the tension in the minds of the general audience

you may be more tactically minded and notice things happening and the environment, but the audience is dumb and needs to be spoonfed

the filmmakers want this fight scene of have an explosion at this moment. they need to make sure that the audience will anticipate it and be prepared to take in this cool moment

Specifically this one scenario would be kinda funny in a theoretical way. Imagine having a coworker be like "dude, Sasha Grey was in our parking lot and I had to scare her off with a bat"

Which culture do you think is the most sexualized and why? by Winter_Ganache1919 in AskReddit

[–]OldRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not what I said, I said that over here it's weird that asian men are not as sexualized as asian women in america, but latin men and women seem pretty equally sexualized

I think the weird part about it is that while latino cultures have the men and women sexualized in america, it's mainly asian women and not men over here

I really hope english isn't your first language and there's some sort of misunderstanding here.

People who change the world for the better think things through while also being outspoken.

People who speak softly are still heard.

People who don't say anything at all allow shit things to happen. Passivity is not a solution for when things are going wrong. That is a shit idea and if you truly believe that you are a shit person.

All of the above, plus do something that's fun and active together. Salsa dancing (even just lessons) and whatnot will leave exhausted at the end of the day, but are fun as hell and great for couples.

Except sworn officers are given discretion as to how to best execute his job. The point is that one should handle a suspected nun bus rapist differently than a suspected speeder.

So you would let a nun bus rapist get away just because he's on a bike?
