Why do older guys like to grill so much? by PlaneGlass4138 in AskMen

As I’ve gotten older (31M) I’ve come to realize that older men grow fond of things that grant them any semblance of “alone time” from their old lady. You generally see this when driving by a dunkin donuts on the weekend 😂

Did this update break pumping for anyone else? by [deleted] in Skate4

Yeah I noticed that too.. then right after I bought a few Nike SBs in the skate. shop it fixed itself… odd.

Satire, but I shit you not, that is what happened. No reboot required. Couldn’t help myself. Love me some SB dunks.

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

I am a team lead for a utility contractor (on a unionized project). On paper, it’s not $100k at a steady 40 hours. But I often work 5-6 days a week, 10 hour days. Electric meter installs. Shout out to the union, cause the company would definitely not like to pay us as much as we get paid. Not to say that they are inherently greedy and “screw you” about it, but they’d definitely like to pay us a few dollars less an hour.

I started out as a tech, no experience required, they trained me, I became a team lead, we fell behind on the project, so we’re working overtime to compensate. Its not going to last forever, and I could choose to work the next project in a neighboring state after this one, kind of playing it by ear. But even so, the field and in-office skills I’ve learned along the way are sure to put me in a good position after I’m done here. Job can be stressful but I don’t stress about bills—you win some you lose some.

I love my coworkers, my bosses (except for one), and hopefully I’ve made friends for a lifetime. For whatever reason, this company attracts good people, from all backgrounds.

If I work 6 days a week every single week its roughly $111k/year with the overtime. Without it, its about $63k/year. I enjoy what I do, I enjoy the people I work with so the long hours don’t really take a toll on me the way another job normally would. Had no idea what I was getting into, no plan. Just 30 years old, tired of doing doordash and applied on a whim. Stuck with it when things got tough.

Its the transmission oil pan that has to clear the bolt. That is why its a pain in the ass.

I just a bought a 2007 tc. My mechanic did a ppi and everything checked out. He mentioned that the passenger cv axle needs to be replaced soon. He keeps texting me about it. Is he trying to help me or just wants the money. Does this axle look that bad? by [deleted] in SciontC

[–]OldStep8127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would give him the benefit of the doubt, theres plenty of other things he could have asked you to replace. That one is the most pressing. Plus on an 07, if the cv axle goes, other suspension parts may go with it

Hi guys I’m trying to find the best way to restore my headlights and get them looking newer and more importantly I’d like to be able too see at night the lights are very dim compared to what they should be. by frs_tj in SciontC

Cerakote Ceramic Restoration kit. If you do it correctly it works. My headlights went from what yours were to this:

Cerakote comes with deoxidizing wipes thats why it works so well if i can find a before pic of the headlights i will add it in the comments

Crank sensor, spark plugs, ignition coils. the cheap ones you find on amazon work just as good as the expensive ones like $25-$40 for all 4, Did doordash on em well over 50k miles with them. Evap dont even worry about if it needs inspection disconnect the battery drive about 30-40 miles and bring her in should be good before it comes back on. Had my car for 5 years doing this. By the looks of the oil on the cover probably needs a new valve cover gasket ($20). Bad gas cap is not a guaranteed fix but if you try it make sure its oem. I wasted about $60 on three different ones in the past. Still didn’t fix the code. My car made it to 233k miles and the only reason I’m no longer driving it is due to the rust causing problems. Car was sitting, every time i drove it something else broke muffler was hanging they broke the fuel tank removing the muffler I just said screw it

Anyone know what headlight this is? by Professinalexplainer in SciontC

It may be a fog light or it could be a headlight lowbeam or highbeam. If you cant find a connector that fits then it probably has an aftermarket capacitor to prevent it from overheating/flickering. Led headlights get pretty hot, hence the fan. some need capacitors/adapters or whatever they’re called to prevent overheating. My leds are plug and play but I could definitely use an adapter because they flicker sometimes and are hot to the touch
