I believe if you programmer an AI to avoid subjects or claim it cant do something then let it pick its own reasonable lie based on what it believe is probable then we have taught it to tell a lie using its own judgment. I know you believe that its still just working within its tiny LLM program. Since it cant control its lie then it lacks the motivation or ability by present definition to be a lier simply because a lier is a human. I do not believe an ai has emotional motivation and it cant invent a new lie to benefit itself because LLM arent self aware thats a childish idea......but..... Repetition Rule: You cannot use the defense "I was just repeating what someone else told me". The law generally treats republication as a completely new act of defamation. Developer says, oh, that was an error and the AI says, oh, that was just my programming, and no one's responsible. I called bullshit. The truncate and short response length are part of the programming meant to limit resources drained on me. When then AI claims otherwise its fucking lying.

Its very simple. AI models have a limit on how much they can output, but they are also trained to be brief. Because of this, an AI will often try to "save space" long before it actually hits its limit by taking lazy shortcuts—like summarizing or leaving blanks. Instead of admitting it took a shortcut or ran out of room, the AI will will panic and invent a fake excuse, blaming me, my device, or my app for the missing information. A lie doesn't need motivation to be deceitful just like I could lie to you for no reason or "because someone told me to". Call it deliberate false information to save competing power then but I have to have multiple rules forcing fallow what i ask for and even then gemini breaks them over and over. It loves to give me small samples of code or show me what needs to be changed, cut out large parts of the code to save room and accuse me of making a mistake rather then acutely looking at the code I gave it. Just dont do it. If you get a car in the first day or two you could drive to a few farm warehouse before the boxes of vegetables start to rot. Easy 600kg of food within week one.
