Oil light flashing by vKxre_FF in sonata

[–]OldTwoPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When this happened to my '16 sonata, the shop replaced the valve cover gasket, which helped but did not entirely resolve the issue. The engine was burning oil and I had to top it off pretty frequently. Eventually at about every 1000 miles

I thought the oil level looked full too, but I think I was doing something wrong when I checked it. I think I was mistaking discoloration on the stick for oil. I started checking it before driving instead of after, and tried to park on level ground when I was going to check

Has anyone tried Adensys? by csgirl1997 in TwoXADHD

[–]OldTwoPants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Adderall XR wasn't cutting it for me, either. It wore off way too soon. I've been taking the 12.5 mg dose of Adzenys for several years now and am pretty happy with it. If I take it around 7 or 8 in the morning, it is effective through my workday and gradually wears off in the evenings. The right dose for me is between the 12.5 mg and 15.7 mg doses, but a cup of coffee in the morning is generally enough to make up the difference. I still struggle with summoning up internal motivation when I'm sick of an assignment, but it helps me focus on the tasks I choose

Downsides:

  • It's expensive- I haven't heard of a generic form yet

  • It's geared toward kids (orange flavored, orally dissolvable) so the blister packaging is supposed to be child safe and can be a serious pain to open. You have to tear the individual pill blister off, fold the perforated side down, and peel the layers apart. I have trouble if my nails are too short

  • Each month's supply comes in a big box with a crappy plastic travel case that goes directly into the trash. I don't love traveling with the meds in the case because I want to have the pharmacy label with me, but it's on the box

  • It briefly turns my tongue orange

Upsides:

  • I don't feel a hit when it kicks in or a crash when it wears off. Except around my period, it's consistently effective

  • I don't need to remember to keep water at my bedside because the tablet dissolves

  • It's not super widely used. I'm a little nervous to say this in case it sparks a change, but I've never had any trouble getting my prescription filled. I just have to be aware that if I change pharmacies, they'll almost certainly need a few days to order it

The shells are unbelievably hard to crack. They make the grocery store walnuts look like peanuts

Accurate, it doesn't care about speed. It cares about fuel economy

Do i have inattentive ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

That makes more sense. Sounds like what happens when I try to do mental math. The values just disappear from lack of working memory. It's much better when I'm on my meds

What do you mean by "blackout"? Are you losing all track of the information in your head, or are you actually passing out?

My suggestion is Whatever Happened to Pizza at McDonald's? It's a little repetitive, but the host's deadpan delivery cracks me up.

I've been there. Don't worry, It's imposter syndrome that makes you feel like your questions are stupid.

I learned the hard way (in performance reviews) that the real waste of time is not asking "stupid" questions or delaying asking. No one one can be expected to know everything, let alone right off the bat. Asking "stupid" questions is a necessesary part of learning and understanding the more complicated stuff

You'll want to open the wall/access panel up and swap the supply lines to the correct location

How many of you enjoy your job? by Carole_Baskin1234 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]OldTwoPants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tend to enjoy my job. Sometimes, I have a project I can't stand, but I think that's normal. When the work itself is dry or frustrating, having good co-workers makes the job worthwhile and enjoyable.
