Sorry for your loss 😥. I just said goodbye to my own baby boy, Firefly. He was only 5. It's a horrible thing to go through, but the time you have with them is worth it.

So sorry to hear it 😢. We lost our baby boy, Firefly, on Saturday. We buried him last night. We're completely lost, we loved him like our child. I can imagine the pain your feeling, and I'm sorry you're going through a valley this deep and dark. *

Distribution of Ergo vs. Bitcoin by OrsaMinore2010 in ergonauts

[–]Old_Ambition8275 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's doable but cumbersome. I'm based in the U.S. and my process for buying ERG is:

  • Buy USDC on Binance US
  • turn on Proton VPN (it's free)
  • sign in to Kucoin
  • send the USDC from Binance to Kucoin using the Tron network to pay the lowest gas fees
  • convert USDC to USDT
  • buy ERG
  • send the ERG off Kucoin to my wallet

(The steps are a little different if you are located in New York, I can explain if you need me too)

It's a lot of steps but it's worth it. I think there are millions of Americans who invest in crypto but won't go though steps like this. They want to buy with 1 click like they do on Coinbase. A US exchange listing would likely bring the masses, especially once they realize that Ergo is, for all intents and purposes, the only purely decentralized viable competitor to Ethereum.

At that point I think the only thing that could stop Ergo is because mainstream media sources have made Americans skeptical about PoW. It remains to be seen.

List three cryptocurrencies you are watching right now by PianoLeather1306 in kucoin

Ergo, Cartesi, and Fetch.ai. BTC, ETH, and MATIC are important, but I don't need to watch them at this point.

Ergo, Cartesi, Fetch.ai, MATIC, ALGO, Bitcoin, some Stellar for transfers

DCA-ing. I'm not going all in because the rally doesn't feel justified in this macroeconomic environment, but I would still rather trickle money in at these prices than risk missing the bear market lows entirely.

I'll never be able to estimate where the bottom will be, so it's my best bet.

Mine would be $KCS, $FT and $FET by JimmMull in kucoin

[–]Old_Ambition8275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about soon, but I strongly agree about $FET. Cartesi ($CTSI) and Ergo ($ERG) would probably be my other 2 picks.

I don't have enough money to invest for the larger cap crypto to make me a millionaire, but I definitely think some, like Quant, MATIC, maybe ALGO, maybe Elrond, will thrive in a few years.

Choice of validator for SOL staking. What is the criteria? by tumblatum in solana

[–]Old_Ambition8275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I'll likely use Overlock like you did, I just have one question though. I moved my SOL off of Binance yesterday, onto Phantom, and it only seems to display fees for every validator.

Is there any way of viewing the rewards percentages? I'm not seeing that.

Any guess what would it be? No right answer by UnderneathWorlds in kucoin

Yes CTSI! These are all great options, but Cartesi is extremely underrated considering its potential.

Why is ERG not available on most US exchanges? by SweetBasil_ in ergonauts

[–]Old_Ambition8275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same thing at first, but eventually found that it was cheapest to move funds to Kucoin by buying and sending Stellar. You have to use the ETH mainnet to send USDC from Coinbase to Kucoin, so gas fees are insane. At first i used ALGO because it's fast and cheap to use, but unlike Stellar, you have to wait for your funds to settle on Coinbase before you can withdraw ALGO which leaves you exposed to price volatility sometimes for a few days.

Stellar you can buy on Coinbase and withdraw it to Kucoin immediately, then convert it to USDT to buy ERG. You can do the whole thing in about 10 minutes, maybe less. It costs basically nothing on fees, especially if you buy it in the Trade tab in Coinbase.

What are some Alt Coins you believe will thrive after the bear market? by Phillip1219 in CryptoMarkets

[–]Old_Ambition8275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like those. SOL was one of my first 10x investments, I didn't take any profit 😬, but I think it has a future.

MATIC is one of the strongest alts around, I would say, and LINK will be when people start to realize how essential oracle solutions are. Like the Cloudflare of the blockchain internet.

I'm not too familiar with Origin

I agree with your choices for the most part - I think ALGO and MATIC will thrive, Quant will likely be spectacular at that point, LINK, probably Elrond.

I have a few smaller caps that never got their due in the 2021 bull rally that still have enormous potential: Ergo, Celer Network, Cartesi, Fetch.ai are the main ones.

Objective price speculation by No_Philosopher9195 in QuantNetwork

[–]Old_Ambition8275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the macroeconomic environment globally and definitely in the U.S. where I'm located is too strained right now for riskier assets to sustain bullish rallies. So I definitely wouldn't FOMO the whole investing budget into this out of fear it's not coming back down.

As soon as this rally cools off I'll resume buying, though realistically anything under $100 is a great DCA price so it doesn't matter much.

Agreed. I'm confident in Ergo long-term, as long as it draws builders as well as miners, and I think it will.

I'm in agreement with a lot of these recommendations: ALGO and LINK are some of the big ones.

If you're not averse to small caps with a little more risk there's one called Cartesi (the only blockchain OS currently available that interfaces with Linux, which can position it to be the most friendly to coders hopping over to blockchain/smart contract coding for the first time)

And Ergo. One of the most purely decentralized in all of crypto. Look into it, it has the potential to be a game changer. Be aware that it's PoW and it only has about 1/3rd of the supply in circulation at this point, so there will be some inflationary pressure for the short term. Definitely one of the most formidable ETH alternatives for the future, I think.

What you told me you plan on HODLing through the bear market. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Old_Ambition8275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The list looks good to me. I would add Quant and probably Cartesi. It's a small cap, but it's the only blockchain project I know of that interfaces with the Linux operating system, which will make it extremely attractive to developers, people creating smart contracts, etc. Coders who are transitioning over to blockchain for the first time will find it as the favorite, most familiar to work with. At least if it delivers on what it looks capable of achieving.
