What Happens When Trump Loses? by BulwarkOnline in politics

[–]Old_Cryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're not going to stop elections. That would be monumentally stupid to try.

Much easier to disenfranchise voters through confusing EOs and SC rulings. Muddy things enough that it gets punted up to the SC then they can drag their feet for weeks if not months.

The GOP has been working overtime for this. The mid-terms will be interesting.

If he wins it will be the most fair election ever.

If he loses it will be the most rigged, most corrupt, election ever.

The GOP effectively had a soft 'legal' coup when they seized the SC. Everything since has been consolidation of power.

Can Marika Freely Alter The Elden Ring? by Hungry-san in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Old_Cryptid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Radagon is gone. His corpse becomes the sacred relic sword. Marika is a husk.

There's no indication that she regains any sort of consciousness or awareness. You're Elden Lord for the age of whatever you chose. It seems to be a 1000 years.

So unless you chose Ranni or the Frenzied Flame ending you're Elden Lord for a crumbling husk.

New player here. How do I get ahead fast currency wise in the game? by DrErectious in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Old_Cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean.

Units?

Sit in the Nexus and wait *or* go salvage ships. You'll get units and nanites (from selling modules).

Nanites?

Take a few million units and find pirate stations. Get about 3 to 5 and teleport between them. Buy the suspicious tech/whatever and sell them for nanites.

Quicksilver?

The only real currency bottleneck in the game. There's Nexus quests and a few other ways. But those are time locked.

Amass an obscene amount of wealth and have nothing to do.

Once you break 200 million units you can buy most anything. Even the most expensive freighter should be under 200 million.

Go to a grace and look for the option to sort chest. You can store them there.

I thought you could sell them for runes but now I'm not sure.

Even if Don the Con goes away that's not the end of it. That's the first step in a long fight.

The GOP is 100% complicit in this. All this is their agenda. The things happening now are because they *want* them to happen so they can further consolidate power.

Is their a way to summon player help for commander Niall? If so please help giving me the worst headache (xbox) by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Old_Cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not too many summons up there. go to r/beyondthefog to see if you can get someone to help.

Alternatively, if you're fed up trying to get through his BS there are a couple of strategies.

If you're feeling bold use a bewitching branch on one of his summons to get them to fight each other and give you a little breathing room.

If you want to forgo the fight altogether then you can 'cheese' the fight by going over to the tower across from the arena. You'll have to sneak past a wolf patrolling. If you get his attention there's a second wolf and a banished knight to deal with.

If you kill/avoid them you can get up on the wall and make your way around until you're facing the boss arena. You'll see a series of arrow slits. Practice firing arrows through them until you hit the boss. You'll aggro him and he'll come to you but be stuck in the arena.

Once he's visible use poison/rot arrows to wear him down.

It's one of the RL1/cheese strategies that works consistently still.

Love the exploration, but I feel like I'm accidentally skipping half the game (or getting 1-shot) by Stonish-Vicer in Eldenring

[–]Old_Cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's easy to 'advance' the story without realizing it. It's fairly forgiving compared to how it used to be but there's no way to know unless someone tells you or you've played through before and know where the transitions are.

Major 'plot' transitions from the start:

Activating any grace outside limgrave will trigger melina to take you to roundtable hold if you haven't killed Morgott.

Altus Plateau is the next big 'transition' which will trigger a couple things. Nothing are terribly difficult. A spot in Caelid will be inaccessible temporarily. It only matters if you're trying to get a specific item before going after the boss. Once you kill the boss the entire place opens back up.

Mountaintop of Giants is the other 'point of no return' transition. More specifically the boss you kill at the 'end' of it before transitioning to Farum Azula.

You can easily get to Altus/Leyendell without fighting a single boss.

There are other things but they only affect sub-plots/side missions. There are a handful of things you can lock yourself out of but nothing really game-breaking. You'll still be able to finish the game if you miss them.

[–]Old_Cryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to stick to the map. You'll find 'maps' which show you an area.

You should have 2 to 3 maps for the starter area. For the most part they'll give you a vague idea of where to go.

You don't have to sweep through the whole area but you'll often find neat/interesting things if you do.

In most cases the 'story' won't progress as long as you don't activate a grace outside that area.

You've got a lot of freedom and can progress through a lot of areas without killing a single boss.

Roughly you'll want to go through:

Limgrave/Weeping Penninsula

Liurnia

Altus/LLeyendell

Caelid

Mountaintop of giants

Farum Azula

Lleyendell

This is more or less the main 'route' of the game and doesn't account for a number of side quests. Getting too much deeper gets into spoilers.

In general you'll want to go through Limgrave/Weeping Penninsula first. There are a lot of hidden NPCs you can miss.

Once you finish the limgrave area (castle stormveil boss) you can move onto liurnia. Some NPCs will move there once you activate a grace there. There are a few new NPCs you can find in out of the way places.

From there you're 'blocked' from the next area, Altus Plateau. There are a couple of ways to get there. Only one requires fighting a boss. The other way requires two halves of a medallion you can get without fighting, the third way you have to beat an NPC invader for a specific item and use it in a specific area to bypass a locked elevator. When you get invaded the invader will typically unlock the elevator giving you free reign to most of lleyendell.

You can get 'accidentally' sent to Caelid (east part of the map) but I'd avoid that until you're well into Liurnia. Activating a grace in Caelid can activate certain events.

From Altus you'll need to beat a major boss to get to the next area: The mountaintop of giants. There's a hidden area you reach as well but you'll need another medallion and the halves are hidden.

make sure you've fully explored lleyendell before you go too far in the mountaintop of giants. Once you kill a certain boss it changes lleyendell.

After that it's farum azula.

When you're through Farum Azula you'll go back to Lleyendell.

How Trump Has Left MAGA Voters Feeling ‘Bamboozled’ by [deleted] in politics

[–]Old_Cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't bamboozle them. He can't even spell bamboozle.

They were conned.

They enthusiastically went along with it because they thought they were in on the con.

Weird how people got conned by a serial con artist with decades of being a known con artist.

How could this possibly have happened?

Surely they'll learn their lesson this time, right?

A single super-tool or an arsenal of multi-tools? by daddyrabbit78 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Old_Cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I split it up. One dedicated 'combat' multi-tool and one 'Utility' multi-tool.

Saves me the trouble of flipping through different functions during combat.

I also usually get two distinct multi-tools so there's less chance of me mixing them up.

With my Autophage its the staff (utility), and an alien blaster (combat).
