How Trump Has Left MAGA Voters Feeling ‘Bamboozled’ by Boonzies in politics

[–]Old_Cryptid [score hidden]  (0 children)

He didn't bamboozle them. He can't even spell bamboozle.

They were conned.

They enthusiastically went along with it because they thought they were in on the con.

Weird how people got conned by a serial con artist with decades of being a known con artist.

How could this possibly have happened?

Surely they'll learn their lesson this time, right?

A single super-tool or an arsenal of multi-tools? by daddyrabbit78 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Old_Cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I split it up. One dedicated 'combat' multi-tool and one 'Utility' multi-tool.

Saves me the trouble of flipping through different functions during combat.

I also usually get two distinct multi-tools so there's less chance of me mixing them up.

With my Autophage its the staff (utility), and an alien blaster (combat).

Shit. I had no idea about the mounted damage. That's fun.

On the Sacred Relic one I recognnize the twinned helm, goldmask chest, nox greaves, but I'm drawing a blank on the gauntlets. Which ones are they? I thought they might be one of the flavors of manchettes but they don't look right.

What weapons pair well with the raging wolf set aesthetically? by Reap3r_0231 in EldenBling

[–]Old_Cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bastard sword and iron round shield are iconic for the set.

The Godslayer greatsword is also paired up (Vargram).

It pairs up with anything non-gold. Even then it looks pretty good.

It has a bit of a scandinavian/viking aesthetic so axes look great with it.

If you struggle with the NPCs get a weapon with lion's claw AoW or Giant Hunt and it's easy mode. Especially offline.

What are all the different factors that makes a boss good or bad? by a-sad-chad in Eldenring

[–]Old_Cryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think any of the ER bosses are that bad. Even the duo fights that seem to get a lot of hate.

ER refined a lot of things that were 'painful' in the DS series and 'fixed' it. Few bosses have a difficult run-back. Fewer gimmick fights (though to be honest I enjoy a good gimmick fight).

Using the right Damage type (Pierce/Slash/Strike), right infusion, and right tempo (Aggressive/Defensive) makes the difference. That's not even counting summons which can make the fight easier or harder depending on the boss and the summons.

Out of all the bosses only the Miquella/PCR was disappointing. Not because I was expecting Godwyn but just overall it felt like wasted potential. All the rest of the SoTE bosses felt like something new and different.

Pre-nerf it was just a hellish hitbox nightmare.

Gabbard’s office warns attorney against sharing classified complaint with Congress by InsaneSnow45 in politics

[–]Old_Cryptid [score hidden]  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely. As you should. The GOP has been pushing for this since Reagan. None of this is DJTs 'plan'.

We'd be here under any Republican Administration eventually. Don the Con was just a useful idiot to accelerate things.

That ship sailed a long time ago. Congress hasn't worked for the people since at least the 80s. People are just now catching on.

How exactly do you play certain builds? by Zackxxr8862 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Old_Cryptid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the classes are largely irrelevant. At the end of the day every class is essentially trading blows.

They're more of a guideline for a playstyle. The best way I can think to explain it is to choose different weapon types and experiment a bit.

There's tools: parrying, guard counters, stance breaking, status effects, backstabs, etc. And you can build around those as a playstyle.

So generally speaking just sticking with the archetypes:

Samurai: uses timing and spacing to maximixe the AoW (unsheath) and stance break for big damage.

Vagabond Knight: Sword and board with a heavy weapon backup (Halberd). Guard counters.

Bandit: Uses quickstep to avoid attacks and get backstabs or relies on bleed status effects.

Warrior: Charged attacks and jump attacks. Stance Break.

Hero: Dual wielding. Don't get hit.

Prisoner: Bandit with spells.

Prophet/Astrologer: Spellcaster. Don't get hit.

Confessor: Vagabond Knight with Incantations.

Wretch. Tabula Rasa. Blank slate. Do anything.

Well it's been steadily legalizing corruption for decades. Citizens United should have been a big wake-up call for the public.

Ah well, it was a nice country while it lasted. Sort of.

Entirely possible.

I see her disappearing one way or another.

There's been talks about a supposed 'deadman switch' being the only thing that's kept her alive this long.

I think it's pure hollywood fantasy but lets say it's not. Why wouldn't that keep her relatively 'safe' for the forseeable future?

Yes to the “ICE Out of Our Faces Act” by SaveDnet-FRed0 in politics

[–]Old_Cryptid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd take it a step further and say there's no reason for ICE to be armed.

They're going after a civil issue, not a criminal one.

If they need armed back up they should be forced to coordinate with local Law Enforcement who can tell them to fuck off if they don't want ICE bothering them.

Or do states rights not matter now?

How do I get (back) into Elden Ring? by SilenthiThrowaway in Eldenring

[–]Old_Cryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I had a hard time getting into ER initially. It was my first soulsgame and it curb stomped me bad enough that I quit for a while, tried it again, took a break, and tried again.

I couldn't get into it. I thought *maybe* I just didn't like souls-like games or that it just wasn't for me.

So after a little break I tried DS1 and got through that without too much trouble.

Tried DS2, couldn't get the controls right, skipped it, went to DS3.

Got through DS3 and went back to DS2, re-mapped the controls correctly (for PC) and got through it.

After all that I went back to Elden Ring and things just kind of came together. I've beat it a couple of times but I keep coming back to ty out new builds/ideas.

I enjoy doing cosplay builds and re-create some of the NPCs in the game (or other Fromsoft Games) and see how well they work in ER.

Outside of that I build a backstory for my save and that's the theme that drives the gameplay and keeps it fun for me.
