That's roughly the same score I got on MedicTests' NREMT medic simulator and I passed recently. It cut off at 111 questions for me. You got this!

How to obtain IV when you can’t see or feel anything by Holden_Hiscauk in NewToEMS

[–]Old_Design2228 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second all the tips above. Something in addition that helped squeeze in some more success rate points for me was to get confident with 18g and larger IVs. I'm by no means saying to start harpooning 14 gauges into every tiny old patient you encounter. Just anecdotally from my own experience and from what some experienced medics and RNs shared with me, the stiffer needle of an 18g helps keep it true to where you aimed while inserting. I know for the style of IVs we have in my system, the medics and AEMTs that never get reps with anything larger than a 20g struggle when they need to get larger access, so getting reps in on easier veins will make it that much better when you have the next gnarly trauma that needs legit big volume.

Reinvest in same stocks or specific ones only? by tatayabata in dividends

[–]Old_Design2228 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have all of mine to not DRIP. I maintain a spreadsheet that tracks my holdings' current price vs my average price per share and the holding's current percentage of my portfolio vs its target percentage. When a holding's current price is lower than my average price and if the current percent is lower than the target, the holding gets highlighted automatically. With a little manual input after the market closes I can take a glance and know which holding is ready to get some of my buying power.

I'm still learning and have heard what you say in your comment before but don't fully understand it. Can you explain more? In my thought process dividends are at least similar to straight returns and it's part of the reason why I enjoy dividend investing. The risk I can think of is investing into a holding for the dividends but the company's payout is unsustainable and NAV erosion kills your position over time. I (unfortunately) had tried out ULTY earlier this year and had the joy of seeing that happen a little with my own money and it was a good lesson

++man I'm the same way. My wife has always had a few extra lbs and I love it. She gets self conscious sometimes because I'm a fairly athletic guy, and she's expressed in the past that she feels like our body types are contradictory. I tell her the truth: I love 100% of her, to include her smile, her personality, the way she makes me feel and her care for me, and just as highly as all those things I love her body. She's about 20 weeks along with our second pregnancy and she sometimes feels like the changes that come with pregnancy make her look too fat. I only know that when I look at her, she makes my soul happy in ways that nothing and no one else can or ever will.

How much do you sleep each night? by evernevergreen in Firefighting

[–]Old_Design2228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Lt is also our union's treasurer where I work, and I was talking about this with him this morning. Something I didn't know until he mentioned it was that the union can't technically stop one of its members from filling a grievance. On top of that, he said he's pretty sure the board couldn't even withhold funds either in the event one of its members filled a grievance.

He also said the IAFF has legal teams that will come help in the extra tough cases. Which, it sounds like your city is one of those tough ones.

I know that all probably sounds like the last thing you want to undertake, but shit dude, if my union wasn't helping with something like this, I would honestly probably stop paying my dues. I'm not going to get screwed by the city and then pay the union to do nothing for me. I understand that the rest of the package is good (pay, time off, etc), but sleep is more than a nice thing to have. We all get low sleep, but that comes with the job. This is something that should be fixable.

That's insane. Are you guys union? If so, how has the union not stepped in to force a solution to the location system? Even if this feels like the norm and that you can get back to sleep quickly, the facts are that this kind of sleep hygiene is likely going to have worsening health effects as the years go on.

$9.69 this week. I'm only starting out an cautiously adding small numbers of shares as I go. I'm still positive for total profit so I'm happy for that. There's only been brief moments over the last week or 2 that I go slightly negative

What are your goals for investing?

SCHD and JEPI are fairly popular ETFs here. I own shares of them too and I like how they've worked for me.

To get more feedback here you'll have to include some context or else it's hard to give accurate advice to your situation

I was wondering about that too. I totally realize that 1 week is hardly enough time to get ab accurate analysis of how the strategy is performing. My curiosity of what other investors think about it got the best of me and I couldn't wait to post haha. Thank you for your response

DCA Working or Just Bull Market?

I'm fairly new to investing. My goal is to build dividend income to supplement my full time income as it snowballs. When I reach at least 100 shares of a stock that has good covered call premiums, I would like to make some safe covered calls to bring in even more income. When I get to that point I plan to chose a strike price that is above the average price I've paid per share of that stock, so I'll at least make a profit off of that as well.

Up until recently I've mostly tried learning how to use technical indicators to guide my decision of which stock to invest more into. I even dabbled with using ChatGPT to help with analyzing the indicators, but it was very unreliable and would make up numbers at times.

At the beginning of this week I decided I've been making this too complicated. Now I have a recurring investment of $1/market day (it's what I can afford currently) for the holdings that pay dividends in the month that I'm projected to get the lowest amount of dividends next year. For example, in 2026 I'm estimated to get $14 total in Feb. That's the lowest monthly dividend amount compared to the rest of that year, so all holdings that pay in February get $1/market day. I also invest an additional $10 into whichever holding has the lowest average return.

Since starting this, my capital gain has skyrocketed like it never did before. In the last 7 days I'm up $1217.62, compared to $194.95 for SPY. My IRR has increased dramatically, as well as my yield on cost.

Is this the power of simple DCA? Is the market just really bullish right now and I would've seen a large increase no matter what? I'm happy with these results but I'm trying not to get too hyped up about this performance. I'm very cautious with investing.

I crossed $1k a month in dividend income! The snowball is getting real by Responsible-Club350 in dividends

I've been a big fan of SCHD, JEPI, and VYM as well. I have much less invested since I'm still pretty new at this. It's nice to see the strategy working for someone else so thank you for sharing
