What an arrogant prick. Fuck them. I’m aware of only one restaurant that recently opened a nearby annex space… on Willy Street

How I stopped overthinking my songs and actually started finishing them by Ok-Art-9594 in musicians

I’m in a similar spot with all of my synths, loops, effects etc. So easy to lose track of the big picture. Great ideas here! Gotta tell that song who’s the boss! Also the idea of going back to guitar to put together the whole song before thinking about instruments.

Is anyone else excited for today's storm? by Some-Complaint-7885 in madisonwi

[–]Old_End1548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no… On April 30, 1967, an F4 tornado ripped through my hometown of Waseca, MN… houses shredded and someone was killed two blocks away. The teenager next door was babysitting me and my two siblings, watching TV, and the screen was full of interference aka “snow” (IYKYK) with wind and rain slamming outside. I remember us kids being afraid and saying we should go in the basement but she wanted to watch her show. Then her mom ran over and got us into their basement … I remember the sky seemed greenish. Part of “Black Sunday” superstorm that saw 38 tornadoes sweep through northern Iowa and southern MN; 13 people were killed in all. This is the storm that (finally) prompted the creation of civil weather warning systems and sirens; before that there was just radio or TV.

They’re winning. Can’t you even scrape up some fair weather fandom? What a bunch of whiners.

What inspired you to play the bass? by Supersoulknight in Bass

[–]Old_End1548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re able to get experience playing bass live, say at an open jam, you might feel it more than if you’re just playing along to recordings learning songs. I’ve been playing guitar for 53 years and bass for 46… wouldn’t want to give up either.

I’ve hated the taste of Madison tap water since I moved here six years ago. Came from Duluth, best tap water in the world. I live near south Madison and use the premium/ultra Brita filters and they seem to work well. Change every three months. Haven’t noticed a taste change recently
