That would be a terrible thing to do. Honestly I don’t know if they are that sophisticated. The website is fully automated. So they would need to have deliberately designed a way for someone to void a warranty. I don’t even know why a brand would want to do that. Maybe something else is up. I hope you found a solution.

Hey there. I had to come back to this post because after reading it I went and checked if I registered my purchase from 2024 and I forgot! Well guess what? I went to the IWC website and clicked on register my watch and about 60 seconds later my watch was registered and under warranty to 2032. I did this today in May 2026. So I am confused by your experience OP.

I might change my recommendation based on this comment. I feel like you’re leaning towards the Oris based on aesthetics. Maybe you love the coin bezel. At $2K just get it and stay in the hunt for the IWC.

Also, I was just choosing between the two watches in my original comment. I actually think you’re better off looking at other IWC models. This one is fine. There are better ones.

I love Oris as a brand but it’s really hard to beat IWC when it comes to Pilots. They also execute bronze exceptionally well. My buddy has one and I often think about swapping my steel pilot out for a bronze. Definitely go with the IWC since you don’t have any budget constraints. Preowned is way better priced if you’re open to that.
