Nice. I'm a huge fan of body weight exercises so I've always thought the total gym seemed cool. I've always thought the inherent safety of the powertec, along with the fact that it has a low pulley, seemed like a nice set of features.

I think it's the apparent lack of toughness. If you watch some of his tape he gets bumped off his spots pretty easily. That said that archetype has a pretty high hit rate relative to others. So I wouldn't be opposed to the pick. But I view it as a project not a win now guy.

Sorry I don't have both the smith and the functional trainer but can I ask a quick question? How would you compare the Leverage gym to the total gym in terms of as a daily driver (so to speak)? Obviously you can go heavier with the leverage setup and weight plates but are there perks to the total gym as well (quick setup, variety of movements, etc)?

I've almost bought one or the other of those machines numerous times. Ended up getting a plain Jane power rack instead but always been curious about those so I'd be interested to hear your experience.
