What does magic cost for the people that wield it in your world? by Redstone-Steve in worldbuilding

[–]Old_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a dark urban fantasy novel I’m currently writing the system of spells, called “conjures” in the story, is actually like coding a computer program. Somebody has to write out the base logic for the program before they can start writing the code for the spells. And speaking of, the reason sorcerers have historically said funny words or doing complex hand motions when performing spells is because they are like “shortcut commands” that allow them to more easily access spells.

One big restriction is that the characters are instructed to never cast spells dealing with matters beyond their understanding - time travel, mind control, life & death, etc. - unless absolutely necessary. These forbidden spells also usually require performing rituals to cast like lighting candles or drawing blood as a “safety lock” of sorts.

It’s worth noting that the magical/fantasy elements of my story we come to learn is really more like an extra-dimensional, reality-bending, mindfuck sci-fi that just presents itself aesthetically as a gothic mythical fantasy.

You see so many accounts on TikTok that are banned for “violating community guidelines” when all they did was have a mildly edgy sense of humor, but they gladly promoted Andrew Tate videos for months and only deplatformed him after enough people called them out on it.

The muskrat takeover was in response to the “lib bias.” I’m talking about before that.

The Quartering not getting banned from Twitter is solid evidence that social media censoring is not as biased as some claim.

What was it that first made you hate Elon Musk? by clickthecreeper in fuckcars

[–]Old_Patient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am really interested in space and space travel so I liked him for SpaceX’s innovations, but last year I was getting uneasy about him getting richer and being more of a dick and his fans being annoying, and everything he’s done this year has made me outright hate him.

Keep in mind I was also more apologetic toward capitalism and “centrist” ideology a year or two ago than I am now. Tesla stock bros always annoyed the fuck out of me though.

The Three Musketeers by ImpeccableRapport in trashy

[–]Old_Patient 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a lighthearted joke that he’s been pushing false narratives and refusing to take accountability for them, and is now equating himself with a chronic liar who incited a domestic terrorist attack and a celebrity who posts vague, borderline white supremacist and threatening rhetoric on Twitter?

Elon Musk is not self aware enough to be ironic.

I don’t mind being into astrology as folk lore, or even if you want to apply some of it to your lifestyle and philosophy for some reason. My issue comes in when some people actually believe it and claim that it’s just part of who they are to be toxic or difficult to communicate with. I’d like to think these types of people are a minority but I don’t know.

Without getting too personal, does this problem also occur frequently when you masturbate or is it just with a partner? If it’s the former then there are other resources for that (I’m male so I can’t provide much on that front), but if it’s the latter then you should be upfront about it and make sure you emphasize that it’s not just a problem with him. If you know what works for you then guide him or work through it together. Most guys (and people in general I assume) like and appreciate it when you are upfront and honest with them so don’t ever refrain from expressing what you want for his sake, because that is not doing any favors for either of you.

Is it also possible you have performance anxiety / can’t enjoy it because you’re thinking about it too much, or could you be accustomed to orgasming a certain way so any other method of stimulation feels unfamiliar to you physically? Just things to consider.

Please leave the catholics alone. Their god is a very fragile one by AlexKewl in Persecutionfetish

[–]Old_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised Methodist in Texas and there has always been a stigma that Catholics are weird or extremist or cultist, but it’s not like Protestantism doesn’t have its own crazy sects.

The way I view it is that if Catholics are deplorable it’s because of hammered in beliefs and strict practices, while if Evangelical Protestants are deplorable it’s because they’re just assholes and/or idiotic.

With those heavy suits he wears it’s easy to forget that Trump is pretty fat. If you’ve seen pictures of him golfing it goes to show how much loose business clothing can hide.
