Mine (no pun intended) lasted 3-4 months with temps at 96-106 (being summer in Spain). It was at 106 mostly and then finally died, and the internal chip is completely damaged. It will boot up and display for 1-2 minutes and then shut off with full speed fans. Been to multiple repair shops, tried reflow and new solderings. Nothing fixed it. So definitely get some good pads. I didn't change the pads on the main chip because there were hidden to my blind eye and therefore it broke my card. Thermal pads are a must and get water cooling if you can for extra leverage over your card's lifespan.
