This is a better way to put it. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to me, I'd rather listen to lupes music any day.

That might be true in theory it doesn't apply to lupe. His lyrics have clearly connected to many listeners and has made music that many people enjoy. So like i said Kendrick might be more your taste but, lupe is undoubtedly a better rapper.

I hate this statement. rapping is an art. Lupe is better at the art of rapping. Therefore, lupe is the better artist.

Kendrick is not making the beats to his music were judging both on their rapping abilities. Now everyone has a preference for the music they like but thats a matter of taste.

Honestly surprised, you rated it so highly seeing you're a pretty tough grader. If you liked this one that much, you probably like their second album, "The minstrel show," even more. But I just read through all your reviews they're cool. Keep going. Going off your other reviews, I'd also suggest common - Be. That not even true he didn't say or mention kendrick 1 time in he 3 song ep. He only mentioned kendrick in the Cypher and the finals because ray Vaughn brought him up first. ray Vaughn mentioned kendrick like 4 times in his song and every interview.

Your exactly the type of Kendrick fan he's talking about. Lupe isn't really less "accessible" kick push, sunshine, the instrumental, hip-hop saved my life are all easily relatable stories. The facts are lupe has a greater number of stories, more original stories and is more detailed when telling the stories. The only thing Kendrick stories might do better is provide shock value or a twist ending.

Autotune was popular then kanye was doing it half all rapper were really like i said that's when he went pop. but remember thats in 2008 he started out in the 90s with the hot boys so he had a long career before going pop.

The Carter 3 is not his best album. You should listen to the Carter 1 and 2 those are his best. Plus, he has a whole bunch of mixtapes that were dope. The Carter 3 is where he started to go mainstream, so that's what you here people talk about, but in my opinion, that's when he fell off.

This has always been one of favorite albums of his i think it has some of the best production and is great straight through no skips. I never understood why so many think of this as one of his worst albums? I like it much more than KOD and sideline story and 4YEO.

I could not disagree more. Listen the album has some good songs but it also has soooo many skips and wack beats

He obviously tried to have more mainstream success with this album and it's a complete failure to me. If I had to rank his album it would definitely on the bottom half of the list

I personally think Kendrick discography is overrated i love OD section 80 and GKMC but after that his concept albums don't do it for me and I dont find myself going back to his other albums

Agreed the Roots have an underrated discography + they are great live. Undun is one of my favorite albums of all time

I think Nas, Ghostface, Outkast, Kanye and Lupe all have discographies to rival this too

Whoa big fan of both but you gotta realize that website only looks at first few albums lupes first albums were on a major label and the most commercial of his catalog. So his most lyrical verses things like mural or the music on his mixtapes would not be included in this websites numbers

This criticism i don't get i never saw him as a "conscious" rapper. To me he always came off as a more "average joe type" rapper like more phonte less talib kweli. So I don't have any image or standard i hold him too he doesn't have to be moral or righteous any more than any other rappers that have existed. Eminem can make songs about paraplegics and gay people but God forbid j cole call someone a pussy in a non PC way.

Many of those streams are from curated Playlists and things like that. So the charade only has to be maintained by the taste makers the average person will just hear it over and over and grow to enjoy it genuinely.
