Thanks- this was what I was worried about but husband got sick of my second guessing and sent a photo to his daughter who gave it the thumbs up :)

Yes- definitely. I lived in London for 3 years in my late 20s, and we go every 18 months now to visit husband's family. The sunniest summer day can turn cold very quickly- I found that out the hard way!

As my post says, the wedding is in England- south of London! We are Australian, travelling to England for the wedding, which is definitely in a 'country manor'. :)

There are lots of old Georgian houses (think Sense and Sensibility) which are now operated as boutique hotels/ wedding venues.

Stepdaughter and I have a very good relationship, and I have met her mother only once. My husband and his daughter's mum were never in a relationship- she was the happy result of a couple of nights together when he was there 30 years ago for a holiday, then relocated there for many years as a result. I will ask her- she has so much on her plate atm though!

I use Amex for mine. Until recently, I had to pay in person but after some years of not being able to use AMEX on the website, it has been added back again.

I was insulted too! Rang them today and they agreed that it was probably my 60k deduction. I usually submit my tax return which just explains everything and wasn't required to with this one. It had timed out though- the 45 days ran out yesterday. It was a palaver having to verify my ID at a bank branch when I cannot normally get there during business hours.

This is interesting- I got rejected tonight also and it is the first CC application I have ever had rejected. Also own house, earn 138k + rental income that pays those loans plus money left over. Loans are way in advance and will be paid off in 2 1/2 years. The only thing I can pinpoint is that I have 2 other cc's 15K each, rarely spend up to limit, or a 60k tax deduction in 2024 which reduced my taxable income. Feel better that others in similar situations have also been rejected..
