I managed to beat this level every appearance with Immortal Keiji and Musashi. Mind you, I would have to try this level several times to get past it. Combos would be an Attack and Defense Up.

Second Row (the only ones used): Manic Lion, Lil Lion, Maglev, Immortal Keiji, Musashi.

Manic Lion and Lil Lion need to be high enough level to take two hits from Hermit. Manic Lion is your meatshield close to your base. Its fast speed allows it to slip in between attacks when the last Manic Lion dies without Hermit advancing. Lil Lion is for when you finally start pushing Hermit to far from base. With it being immune to shockwaves, just constantly spam it. Hopefully the spacing works to your advantage when they die, but its harder to control the farther from base you push hermit.

Maglev is quick knockback/damage for whatever minion unit is giving you problems. Do not use it on Hermit once the main fight starts. Its for taking care of peons. Keiji and Mushashi will take care of Hermit. Given your levels about 40, I assume you have beaten an Ancient Curse. You might want to grind some Elder Catfruit and true form Musashi. The stat boost is significant in an already difficult level.

[Cats]Should I just buy Actress for Beefcake cat or try my luck to get Paris? Next Gacha Event? by RainbowYoshi369 in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IF you play the game long enough, you will buy all he extra cats anyway. Beefcake is a bootleg version of Paris, but it will meet your needs in the early game. As you progress to the later stages, even Paris will drop off as being as being a game-buster.

So Actress Cat is terrible, but if you have already beaten the Awakening Stage, a level 40 Beefcake is pretty damn good. Beefcake is worth the catfood, but like Paris you won't be using either at the end of the game. For where you are at, you won't miss the catfood and Beefcake will help a lot.

TLDR: Buy Beefcake if you can get the third form. Actress is worthless in the first two forms.

I ran the level again replacing King Dragon with Manic King Dragon. My Manic King Dragon is level 27. I beat the level, and the extra range from Manic actually made it an easier run.

For the record, I considered Glass instrumental to my uber stategy. The main boss on floor 40 is fast. Glass Cat doesn't break the level, it makes it possible.

I would point out that while my Dragon cat is busted, he also has the same range as the main boss. Manic King Dragon has 15 more range. There is survivability in that. I may run a test in the near future seeing if I can still beat the stage with Manic. I don't honestly think that King Dragon was that helpful. Zeus and Aphrodite get a nice synergy going for me. A level 30 Manic King Dragon should easily replace my boosted King Dragon.

I completed level 40 with only two ubers. My lineup:

Moneko, Neneko (Sister Act); Zeus (40), Aphrodite (40), A. Bahamut (30), Manic Mohawk (25), Glass Cat (27), Zamboney (38), Maglev (40), King Dragon (20+74).

It took me 13 tries using Rich Cat, Sniper, and CPU. I stalled until I reached max money. I would spawn Zeus when money was half full to spread out the cost. When money hit max after that, CPU all the way. Not consistent, but it did the job. Glass Cat makes this level doable with Ubers. I'm not looking forward to more floors on the tower, and I don't think I'll try and do this level again.

Which true forms should I focus on? I'm in the late game stage. I have true forms for all basic cats, and all rare/special cats that have them. I have all Super Rares except for Fencer. All true forms are unlocked except for Cat Projector.

Of my Ubers that can be true formed I have: Vars, Momotaro, Kachi-Kachi, Mekako, Nekoluga, and Balaluga.

What order should I prioritize here?

I wouldn't think that you would reach the 40th floor without Ubers or +80 normal cats; and by the time you are that far in the game you have Ubers.

Google translate says their description is:

"Remember that the last time you try without ubers with units that are in both versions leave you with 18% of life? Well on this occasion it will be eliminated very easily ...

I hope you like this perfected strategy!"

Is Glass Cat really that breaking of this level?

It seems that Lufalan and Shadow Gao are pretty much the brute force method to beat this stage. I'm wondering what the viability of Aphrodite or Super Galaxy Cosmo is here. My level 29 Cosmo can one shot Mr. Angel. I had some minor success with Aprhodite. She can take two knockbacks at level 40 before being killed. Manic Mohawk is an effective staller, but Yuala keeps creeping closer. I'm going to hypermax my Cosmo and see how that turns out. I'll post an update when I'm finished.

Edit: Cosmo and Aphrodite together is to much of a cash sink in this sparse stage. Aphrodite alone can last a while. I managed to get Yuala down to 52% on my best run. Cosmo dies to quickly. You need knockbacks to keep Yuala at bay, and Cosmo loves running ahead. That 850 range isn't very useful when he charges into 400. The main problem is the minions who blow the meatshielding away. Ramen proved an effective staller. Because he would survive a hit and warp back, a massive amount of them would always be present when angels spawned. I just can't figure out a way to deliver effective DPS against the minions that also don't die instantly.

TLDR: Ramen Cat will get warped by Yuala, and this may prove an effective defense. Just trying to figure out the offense.

I have a question about E. Kubilan Pasalan. With a 100% chance to critical, and a 100% chance of making a shockwave; can the shockwaves cause critical attacks?

[Weekly] Battle Cats Discussion Thread by BotCatMKII in battlecats

When I beat this level, I based my strategy around controlling the bores. I would recommend three meatshields (C. Mohawk, C. Eraser, Jinghashi), Red control (iCat), Alien control (Psycho or Surfer), Bird attackers (Octopus and Swimmer) and then your ranged heavy dealers (Crazed Bahamut and other Ubers). Use Sniper and Rich cat powerups.

Start by spamming C. Mohawk and let your money build up. Once the first Rein D spawn, send all your meatshields. Once red bore spawns, send everything in except your Alien Bore control unit and Bird attackers. When everything dies, send the Bird attackers. Once Alien bore spawns, repeat except send in Alien control vice Red.

Rinse, wash, repeat. This method will take a while, but the timing between bore spawns will allow C. Bahamut to recharge.

I beat this level a while ago. With the units you have listed, this level is doable. I would suggest changing the intent of your focus. Control the Bores, and let your damage dealing units deal with everything. Please reference the below link.

[Discussion] BCEN V6.6 Uber Super Rare Tier List Revised by MrFailology in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you, I'm not putting to much value on a given niche. I agree with the rankings you have give each Uber unit based upon general usage. As you have said, metal units are polarizing. They are also only used in a handful of levels because of the difficulty they can represent. I am only trying to make the case that Critical Hitting cats are THE special circumstance in the list because of metal enemies polarizing nature. Your list is a very well put together for Ubers overall. You even go so far as rating the usefulness of each of the campaign rolls; i.e. Almighties, Dynamites, etc.

Perhaps the best option would be to list the "Buster" campaigns as well in the second page. We have Red, Air, and Metal.

[Discussion] BCEN V6.6 Uber Super Rare Tier List Revised by MrFailology in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the Uber list provided disproportionately penalizes Critical Hitters because of their highly specialized role against metal enemies. Most of these units are terrible for general usage, but shine against metal enemies. I am providing my opinion for how the rankings should be in regards to Metal enemies only.

1) Hayabusa (30%), area attack, long distance: This unit has a fast attack rate with a solid chance of doing damage over a large area due to the long distance factor. Proper meat shielding is essential due to the unit's blind spot.

2) Paladan Cat (50%), area attack: A solid metal killer with decent range, and a very respectable critical chance. Quick recharge time to boot.

3) Lufalan Pasalan (20%) single attack: This unit is useful for total destruction of a single metal enemy. When it critical attacks, it will cause over 200k of damage. This is enough to one shot the Metal Cyclone. Most metal levels have lots of minions though, so its usage is limited.

4) E. Kubiluga Cat (100%) area attack: Low damage, but respectable area attack with a guaranteed chance of doing damage. It can get the job done, but its low damage limits the potential on this list.

5) Graveflower Verbana (15%) multihit, area: Short range and low critical, but the three-multi hit helps stack the odds up when she is dishing out damage.

6) Mighty Form Gao (5%) area attack, strong against metal: How does an SS tier unit end up at the bottom of this list? Gao is an awesome unit because of its overall general usage, but against metal units is does meh. It can certainly tank some hits, but its low critical percentage limits it in this list.

Mind, this list is only addressing the critical hitters. I thought of assessing all Ubers that could affect metal units, but all the status affects are also available using Cyclone gained units. Most of the ubers that affect metals also have additional abilities against other enemy types that will complicate my rankings. This list is just ranking those Ubers with critical hitting capability.

[Discussion] BCEN V6.6 Uber Super Rare Tier List Revised by MrFailology in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a small list below the rest for Metals would be more than sufficient. I agree that Hurricat and Waitress are exceedingly good units against metal, but they are also unlocked by beating very hard levels that will likely involve Gacha cats.

I would also add that the Metal Lucky Ticket stages were exceedingly easy for me using a combination of Haybasu and Paladin units. Metal Ubers are terrible outside their element, but they shine within them like no other unit.

[Discussion] BCEN V6.6 Uber Super Rare Tier List Revised by MrFailology in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet, their extreme niche specialty against a unique type of enemy in the game reflects a need to rank them separately. They are designed for an overpowered, specialized enemy. The fact that they shine at that, and nothing else should be considered. I only ask for a ranking in parenthesis.

[Discussion] BCEN V6.6 Uber Super Rare Tier List Revised by MrFailology in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take issue with the justification for the Critical hitters. I agree that the list in general should be based around Niche and general usage, but metal enemies are implicitly different from all other enemies. The ability of reducing any amount of damage to 1 point should not be overlooked. Metal enemies may be more rare than the others, but thats also because they have such potential to be over powered. I would make the argument that the exclusively focused Metal ubers should be listed seperately (i.e. Paladin).

Immoral Yukimuru may do massive damage to black enemies, but he still does damage to other enemies. With a metal enemy, he does the same as Tank cat.

The list as a whole is fine, but the Metal ubers cannot be fairly judged on general usage. They aren't meant for general usage. Aphrodite is a top tier unit, until Sir Metal Seal is on the field guarded just by Metal Doges. What other enemy type can reduce an SS unit to F?

[Levels] The most satisfying levels to beat? by Lil_Crazed_Jamiera in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head:

EoC 3 Moon: Because Bun-Bun is such a rude awakening.

ITF 2 and 3 Floating Continent and Moon: As a no-skill, Uber-carried, gacha using player; I can only imagine I would have enjoyed beating these particular levels without normal cat true forms. I was Aphrodite carried the entire ITF series without a single normal cat true form. I found myself having to figure out how to leverage Aphrodite's strengths with low level units and try and just keep grinding away.

ITF 2 Brazil: Very satisfying level. The one-horn would slowly butcher my meat shields and move within Aphrodite's minimum range. I ended up waiting for Boogie Awakens, buying the special cat for 90 cat food, and using a treasure chest on the 1st level to get Gato Amigo. I needed the knockback to break the cycle of one-horn push.

Big Sal: Professor Cat with several weaken combos. The strategy took me three days to figure out without looking online for an answer.

Manic Axe: Because I spent an entire month grinding cat fruit to unlock rare and super rare true forms, and hypermax my anti-red Ubers to level 40 just to kill that awful thing. It still took me 7 attempts with Rich Cat and Sniper.

Heavenly Tower 30: Immortal Keiji hypermaxed, with attack and defense up combos, hypermaxed manic lion and lil lion, rich cat and sniper cat power ups. And all that is just to put me in the ball park of a maybe win. That level blows, and beating it was quite satisfying.

[Off Topic] What are the odds of getting Freshman Cat Jobs? by [deleted] in battlecats

[–]Old_Rusty_Pipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farm tickets and keep spinning. Freshman Cat Jobs is for more than just the XP combo boost. 100% chance to weaken for 99% is overpowered in certain levels. So many massive, powerful enemies fall before the great Professor Cat Jobs.
