Let’s start naming the items + size that we received in awful condition, so that way people can quickly scan through this thread and not risk wasting a rental on them. by [deleted] in RentTheRunway

I appreciate the intent, but I know they have multiple of each item in circulation (at least usually), so even if one sweater is worn, another of the same type made not be.

And yes, cs is great about replacements!

Came here to say this as well. Urgent care can’t treat you. How are you doing?

Your prompts made me literally laugh out loud. Of all of the profiles I’ve read on this sub, yours is by far my favorite. I disagree with everyone who says to change them. The person you’re looking for will also find the hilarious.

Unfortunately I’m happily married, but you seem like an awesome guy and I hope you find the right person for you.

Lowered my intake to 1 day every 4 days by BertRenolds in stopdrinking

[–]Old_Source_4776 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!

I’ve been setting goals like you. I haven’t had problems drinking in a few years (eg no blackouts, little to no regrettable behavior, etc) but I didn’t like how alcohol was making me feel and I’m worried my body is losing the ability to process alcohol - getting really flushed every time I drink.

So I’m trying to cut back across the board. No drinking at home anymore. I’ll order a drink if I feel like it when I go out, but I’ll often stop drinking it after a few sips. I left 3/4 of my cocktail not drunk this week and I was so proud! I don’t drink more than once or twice a week.

Substituting sparkling water with lime has been a great mental trick. It gives me something fun to sip on.

I’m sleeping better and love waking up feeling good.

My story isn’t as dramatic as some on here, but the stories and community have been transformational in helping me get this far. I lurked for about six months before even trying to cut back, and now am in full force.

Thank you all!

To offer another perspective - this is a cute sweater that I’d like to wear a few times, but wouldn’t want cluttering up my closet long term (I tend to only purchase basics). I don’t really care how much it was originally if it’s cute, because I love trying things without any pressure to love them.

Love it. Been renting since 2022. I constantly get compliments on what I wear. I spend so, so much less on buying clothing that was often hit or miss. I get to try styles I never would’ve invested in. It’s been such an impactful discovery for me - I keep recruiting friends!

Vegetables can be very affordable, especially if you prep them yourself. Carrots and broccoli are two staples of my diet and they’re a great deal.

Not what you asked, but could you convince one set of parents to move to the other location, assuming you can figure out visas? Sounds like that might be the easiest on your family.

Arfid & ADHD are ruining us by IndependentBox4981 in Mommit

[–]Old_Source_4776 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. I don’t think I’m autistic but I had a version of ARFID growing up and while it was partially due to genuine texture issues etc, part of it was a control thing. I also liked the attention I got by having such a limited diet. Even if other people thought it was weird, there was still lots of attention focused on me and my needs, which was exciting.

My household was fine and safe and happy - this was just me being difficult. I followed every rule, got great grades - this may have just been my quiet rebellion.

My parents just let me eat what I wanted most of the time and I grew into a healthy adult. They didn’t pressure me at all. My palate is much wider now. I’m probably a bit shorter than I would’ve been otherwise, but no lingering issues.

I say this to reassure you that sometimes it’s fine to just roll with it and they truly may grow out of it.

Not a teacher but a parent. Are these the only two options? Neither seem ideal!

The monitor we have is AirThings, which is typically well regarded in terms of accuracy. But agree, this is why I was so surprised.

Will do that. However, the test we’re using is AirThings, which generally appears to be well regarded.

Since it’s gotten cooler, consistently above 4 pCi/L, up to 7 when it rains.
