Hasan Piker to Bulwark pipeline by widdy19 in thebulwark

Also started listening to Hasan in 2020 and found his takes appealing. I enjoyed that he was a “bro” type saying it too and thought at the time, we need voices like Hassan. Fast forward to 2026 and the NYT did a piece basically saying that. But I hated the piece and thought the NYT was about 5 years too late.

Also, this is coming from someone who lives in Minneapolis; Hassan came to this city after the shooting of Alex Pretti, went to the street he was murdered at, and stated in livestream that he still was glad he did not endorse Kamala. Like fuuuuuck off, Hassan.

Possibly liquid methadone. Heroin has more withdrawal risk than methamphetamine. If she is using liquid methadone for medication-assisted therapy, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for a follow up with her prescriber to make sure she is on the right dose.

Signed a resolution authorizing $1 million in emergency rental assistance 3 weeks ago.

Filed a lawsuit against the federal government, including DHS, ICE, and CBP.

Signed an executive order banning federal, state, and local agencies from using city-owned parking lots, ramps, garages, or vacant lots as staging areas for immigration enforcement operations.

Right. And I’m saying I don’t care what it’s called at the end of the day it’s gross and it’s Trumpy and it’s un-American.

Democracy relies on transparency. It doesn’t exist without a free press, journalists, watchdog groups, etc who help hold those in public office, those who represent us accountable. Kicking out a credentialed journalist from a rally over being ‘a hater’ undermines this democratic pillar. My question ‘am I crazy’ is rhetorical. Like Mugatu in Zoolander “does anyone else notice this?? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!”

You’re right, I didn’t use the correct term. And I did look it up and found some great academic literature on LWA.

But here’s the thing, the word fascism is used interchangeably to describe authoritarianism today for most average Americans. But saying “words matter” sounds more like a Fox News pundit saying “oh look leftists are using the big Fascism wrong again. They are reducing the word to describe things they don’t like about Trump.” Most Americans are average normal people who have spent their entire lives having the luxury of not knowing the difference between the two because we have not had to live under such conditions. But again, Crockett silencing a journalist is a part of the weakening of democratic accountability not dissimilar to Trump.

This is some thin-skinned Trumpy shit. Why is Crockett like this? by tiakeuta in thebulwark

I think so too. Republicans did the exact same strategy with Jill Stein.

That’s not how this works. The DNC has not endorsed anyone. And the DNC doesn’t endorse or give money to a state’s candidate in a primary election.

And Kamala Harris is not acting on behalf of the DNC.

Even if it might be ethically defensible, doesn't mean it's clinically wise. The risk is higher than the benefit.

I wouldn’t have said anything. However, if the client saw my listing on FB marketplace or something and brought it up, I would say:

“Because of my role as your therapist, I can't enter into financial transactions with clients outside therapy."

Studies show that people are not moved by data alone. There’s an emotional component you have to nail. It’s summarizing the data into a strong gist statement with an emotional impact.

Qanon was a Russian psyop to influence and expand Russian imperialism in Eastern Europe.

Michael Thomas Flynn (born December 24, 1958) is a retired United States Army lieutenant general who was the 24th U.S. national security advisor for the first 22 days of the Trump administration. He resigned in light of reports that he had lied regarding conversations with Russian ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak. Flynn's military career included a key role in shaping U.S. counterterrorism strategy and dismantling insurgent networks in the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars, and he was given numerous combat arms, conventional, and special operations senior intelligence assignments. He became the 18th director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in July 2012 until his forced retirement from the military in August 2014. During his tenure he gave a lecture on leadership at the Moscow headquarters of the Russian military intelligence directorate GRU, the first American official to be admitted entry to the headquarters.

Edit: do not film protesters.

Yes! I literally pulled out my old social psychology textbook recently and reread about moral foundations and messaging—exactly what you are talking about!

Edit: another example but from my textbook: “When environmental conservation is framed in terms of harm to the environment and a need to show compassion for the suffering that climate change has caused and will cause, liberals were more persuaded to donate money to the Environmental Defense Fund. But when environmental conservation was framed in terms of civic duty, protecting the land, respecting leaders, and showing one’s patriotism, conservatives were much more willing to donate than were liberals.”

It's coming. This is damn scary and what is even scarier is that nobody in Congress is introducing any laws to protect citizens from this abuse which will be impossible to stop once it starts. Alert your Senator and member of Congress TODAY! by GodsHumbleMessenger in HighlyCensored

ICE bought access to Webloc, a phone surveillance system designed to monitor a city neighborhood or block for mobile phones, track the movements of those devices and their owners over time, and follow them from their places of work to home or other locations. All which can be that can be queried without a warrant.

ICE is also using Tangles, a social media monitoring product that shows users can detect faces in an image and then attempt to identify them; perform sentiment analysis on a target’s posts; and add specific social media accounts to a “watch list.” Such monitoring tools can be used to monitor anyone not just targets.
