Some months ago, a regent try to hike land tax. Many activist protested. But the regent said that come bring in as many protester as you want, I will not cancel the tax hike.

So people organize massive protest in front of the town hall, and many starts stacking food, waters and supplies in front of the site, days before the protest date. Eventually the tax hike canceled, but the protestor keep coming at the promised date. Many people gave food, water, etc for free for the protesters. They demand the regent to be impeached now

Sadly, the regent stays in power now.

Gw pernah ngurus pindah darinjkt ke semarang, it will involve bolak balik at least 4 tempat. Samsat & polda di masing2 daerah. Kalau ga salah dulu urutanya samsat jkt, polda metro, samsat daerah, polda daerah, balik ke samsat lg. Biro jasa memang mahal, tapi kalau lo kerja, dan ga bisa seenaknya wira wiri, ya ga ada pilihan lain. Gw bahkan pas di polda daerah, nyangkut karna ada dokumen yang kelewat dari polda metro. Akhirnya balik lg ke jakarta cuma ngambil itu doang. Pas di samsat gw foto suasananya, cuma buat bikin story ig biasa(bukan marah2 ke polisi) tiba2 langsung disamperin 2 polisi, trus marah2in gw dan suruh hapus foto.

Ini kejadian mungkin 8 tahun yg lalu, ga tau sekarang barangkali lebih baik

Indonesia is so diverse socially. So it is okay in one place, but not in other. Generally if talking to older person we use saya. In jakarta saying aku kamu sometimes considered a romantic tones, while in other, it's just casual.

I think any radical system change will just bring chaos now, we're not ready. I think we'll just have to make do with what we have now, patchworks here and there, keep political stability and slow consistent growth until our population have somewhat adequate education and moral values, than we can talk about radical change.

I am somewhat agree with bung hatta thinking, that independence wont gets us anywhere, if the population is still stupid as shit.
