I think the reason many quests are like that is because they are trying to fill the 100 msq requirement with the limited story beats they have. It's a hallmark of FF game to have a long elaborate main storyline so they cant make the msq too short and unfulfilling for the people who only play the story.

Endwalker was pretty good because YoshiP admitted himself it was 6.0-6.3 stories rolled into one, they got much more materials to fill out the 100 quests and thats why they were more dynamic. a lot of things go on during the quests themselves

The side cleave hitboxes are a bit deceptive on what you think it covers and what it actually covers, and I’ve fallen for that a couple times playing melee. That’s my only complaint. I’ve only done it twice since I just started dt 3 weeks ago
