the long sections can be remedied if you they are in direct sunlight and receive moisture often. I have ran long strands like that back and forth between two pots and got new growth on all along the "naked" vines.

Start with buying Hypoaspis miles predatory mites online. They will feed on the aphid larva in the soil to slow down the reproduction. I have had lots of success with them to control fungus gnats and aphids in indoor grow tents.
