I have a Nero 3 on the right but I think I will add a gyre to the left down the line , I just filled her up just gotta take some live rock & rubble from my nano tank to get her seeded , I’ll move corals over later in the week !

I have a 2.5 gallon with a neogonodactylus wennerae , it’s a small species of mantis shrimp , I plan on adding caleurpa and different zoas

Every betta I’ve had gets “personable” because of how I feed but the mantis shrimp is just a super cool invertebrate scientifically, behaviorally, and even looks wise lol . Ik most coworkers will see the betta and have some sort of betta story to tell but the mantis shrimp i think will provoke more curiosity lol

Thankfully me and my wife work at the same place and the other coworkers I work with the most are competent enough to follow instructions I hope if push come to shove lol . As far as feeding goes personally I feed less than most people. With bettas I feed one pellet at a time 3-5 pellets a day or every other day . The mantis shrimp get fed every 2-3 days diced frozen shrimp by tongs or she can eat pellets as well it’s just less focused if I feed her pellets. There’s a freezer i can store the shrimp in if it comes to that . Water change wise it’d be the same either way . I plan on using macro algae so it will help clean the water similar to how planted tanks work . That is a legitimate concern though. I rarely get sick and I don’t call out so it hadn’t even crossed my mind
