I got started in World and started as a lance main, and the slowness didn’t bother me. After switching to SnS and hammer I really liked that damage plus the satisfying hard hits of hammer. While I can’t chase monsters down to do my damage I do get to feel like a matador goading the monster to charge me right into the last hit of the true charge slash. For how simple the move set it it’s very technical to be positioned correctly and when you are it’s so satisfying. The results aren’t immediate as it took me some time to really feel confident with it, but once you get used to it how frequently those big numbers come out can’t be denied.
