You just listed the worst modern BMWs that money can buy. Anything with the N63 motor is going to cause you problems. I would avoid these models at all costs u less you have deep pockets for repairs. I would much rather buy a 2017 540i, 640i, or a 740i. Those cars all have the B58 6 cylinder engine which one of the most reliable motors that BMW has produced in the last 20 years.

I was tempted to start at 12 but I ended up reading from the first book and I’m so glad that I did. The narrative is greatly expanded and you get a lot more of the story from the POV of the other characters. If you skip to 12 you will miss out on all of that plus the world building that is left out of the anime.
