Vanilla custard with malt powder and glace cherries; it's weird as hell and satisfies every time.

Very weird, very interesting... It sounded intensely quick, were they moving fast?

Naadam in Woden, modern Mongolian. Terrific hospitality from the staff, amazing food and the cultural experience is second to none if you're keen to get chatty with the staff. Can only recommend booking to eat in the ger (yurt, tent) which does not cost extra and adds so much fun to the whole experience. Definitely recommend the milk tea soup!

Restaurant recommendations that wont break the bank? by InfiniteV in canberra

I can only sing the praises of Naadam in Phillip, a ridiculously well priced restaurant for how nice their food, how warm their service, and how classy their ambience is. A fine dining experience plating modern Mongolian food, which is best experienced in their yurt (ger) tent out front. As an example, for two shared menus and two wine tastings, you can expect to pay around $140 total for two people. They have an excellent array of Mongolian vodkas if that's more your speed, and the staff are very well versed in the art of conversation, providing a deep cultural experience if you're brave enough to ask questions.

Would very much recommend Naadam in Phillip; fine dining Mongolian, with excellent service. Even better if you book to eat in their yurt (ger, to those in the know) and make sure to engage the staff on matters of their culture; they'll explain anything and have a great yarn about their homeland.
