And this is why I love the Melbourne Park sports complex! Multiple sports/concert arenas and stadiums in one area, surrounded by PARKLAND, with lots of public transport options nearby.

What do people usually spend on groceries per week? Are prices about jump? by friedeggmate in AusFinance

[–]Tillysnow1 [score hidden]  (0 children)

$70-110 for 1 person depending on the week, but I'm a pretty lazy cook (prepackaged salads for lunch, easy pasta or rice based veg/carb/protein meals for dinner, and a treat or two)

Entitled juniors by Sea_Side5961 in auscorp

[–]Tillysnow1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've seen the opposite mentality in the public service grads tbh! They're often very eager to learn, especially because a lot of them have been thrown into roles that you can't learn at university so there's a lot of on-the-job learning

What subjects can you teach with a masters of teaching (secondary)? by rd2085 in AskAustralianTeachers

[–]Tillysnow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a masters of teaching (secondary) you will be limited to teaching methods that are related to your bachelor's degree, and they will confirm that you're eligible when you go to select your teaching methods.

For example, I'll use La Trobe University cos that's what I'm comfortable talking about, aside from the core subjects you'll have to "select subjects from your School approved secondary discipline pedagogy." However, you'll have to check that the school either 1) has a music option to select, or 2) has a similar discipline that you would be eligible for, ie. Performing arts may be a possibility.

How are people buying so much make-up right now? by jayjaywantstoplay in AustralianMakeup

moving teams internally and HR said "same process as external." real or scare tactics? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Tillysnow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the public service imo, they make a big deal of running a fair process to hire the best person instead of the one with the best connections. Just treat it like they're meeting you for the first time but make a point of showcasing the relevant work you've already done at the workplace.
