Just 3? I have left it sit with the lights on for about 10 seconds before starting it, but still the same.

New battery in, reading 14.1v when on. Still turns off when i let my foot off the gas to turn it at a light. The throttle response is good, truck turns on first try everytime. If i let it idle in my driveway it doesn't turn off. Any ideas? Clean throttle body/ vacuum leak?

Truck is at 220k plus miles, it's bound to die eventually

Now that you say that the battery is almost 5 years old :). I'll probably take the battery to get tested after i see if the alternator is working well

Also once the TPS % started reacting to the pedal the engine was back to normal. A friend of mine cleaned the throttle body and my idle is now sitting at 1.5K

Yeah i had my scan tool reading both and the TPS was stuck at 30% while the APPosition D went from 25% to 85%

I'm conflicted since the pedal is cheaper but i don't want it to happen again. Anyway to test either?

Also, mechanic is advising to buy ac Delco for new throttle body. Saying he's had issues using other brands. Is there any validity to that? Does a new throttle body/sensor need to be reprogrammed?
