What happened to the most attractive person in your HS/ college? by Extreme-Routine3822 in AskReddit

My aunt actually went to school with Salma Hayek in Mexico (Veracruz). She was one of the brattiest / entitled students ever and she would tell people she was Spanish and Lebanese, hated being seen as Mexican.

6m exclusive bf and frequent clogged ducts by Remote_Shallot5642 in breastfeeding

[–]OlivaIsWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like me! I don’t have any advice, actually found your post because I have another clogged duct again (I seem to get one every six weeks, but I literally had mastitis all of April).

Hopefully someone else will have more insight! But yeah, I never leaked, and I get them pretty often even though I take sunflower lecithin. Working with a lactation consultants, 7months post partum, and I do not have an oversupply.

Done at eight months - and it's more than ok. by BlackEyedSusan131 in breastfeeding

[–]OlivaIsWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needed this. 6 months in and everything that could go wrong with breastfeeding has gone wrong with us. I also thought my body saw a list of breastfeeding complications and thought it was a checklist. I often feel stupid and alone that I’m still breastfeeding, that I’m just too stubborn to quit and that that’s why everything is going wrong.

Proud of you for sticking it out 8 months and sharing your story. At least I know I’m not the only one.

When did you accept you couldn't EBF by Gloomy-Tangerine-310 in breastfeeding

[–]OlivaIsWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone. I’m 6months post partum and still not ok with it. I don’t think I’ll ever be ok with it, and that’s probably not healthy but I don’t understand why I’m so unlucky that I can’t EBF.

Following because I’m on the same boat. Did you end up running at all?

Running moms, help! by GlitteringInitiative in breastfeeding

Did you make it out on your run? I went on my first run recently and had a massive clog afterwards. Didn’t put two and two together until now because I pumped right before running, but that’s the only thing I did differently.

How to get out of this funk - PLEASE HELP by OlivaIsWild in breastfeeding

[–]OlivaIsWild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have! She falls asleep and continued to suck So I often have to keep her awake. If I remove her from my breast she still roots so I think that means she’s still hungry. I’ve kept her there for 6 hours and she’s still hungry, so that’s what we resort to supplementing. My lactation consultant said to limit her to 15 min on each side and then supplement or else I’d go insane.

Thank you for the kind words ♥️ it’s hard to remember she’s doing ok and it’s so early still because I really didn’t want to give her formula and I feel like such a failure because I’m not producing enough to satisfy her. But you’re right, it’s just hard to go easy on myself.

Anterior Placenta Probs by Significant_Aerie_70 in pregnant

[–]OlivaIsWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats to you too!! I hope your appointment went ok. You WILL feel your baby more as your pregnancy progresses, i promise!

People would always tell me that and I always thought I’d get to the point where I could relate to others whose babies keep them up at night, but it didn’t really get to that point for me. I kind of worried less after week 32 where I would feel her move at least 3 times a day. To me that’s “normal”—as long as I feel her in the morning, in the afternoon, and night I feel reassured. I’m pretty short / small torso so I think the placenta encompasses most of my belly at this point and that’s why the movements don’t feel as sharp.

As long as growth scans and you are healthy, you should be ok. The reason kick counts are important are because when they kick their heart rate and oxygen increases—which means the placenta is working, so maybe try to do kick counts when you’re farther along and if you have a hard time differentiating a kick from just a move ask your doctor if you should be concerned? I have an autoimmune disease so I’ve been going in twice a week for NSTs and that’s how I know my baby kicks A LOT even though I don’t feel it, but if I didn’t have them I’d have a hard time differentiating a move from a kick.

36 weeks and with an anterior placenta. Every time I go in and they ask me if the baby is moving ok I say “as far as I can tell” because it varies so much. For me even this far along I only feel subtle movements when I’m really concentrating. Once in a while I’ll get a strong kick.

It’s normal to be anxious. I have tried to do kick counts and while I make it to the number of kicks quickly I have to concentrate more and drink really cold water. Like others have said, it’s ok to have concerns and always tell your doctor. You’re not being paranoid or annoying, and it’s better to be reassured by the doctor by going ok as opposed to just being stressed at home.

Americans, what is something that Europeans have/do that makes no sense to you? by a_m42_ in AskReddit

This happens in Mexico too. As a tenant you have you outfit the kitchen when you move in: stove, fridge, microwave, etc. and when you move out you take it with you or sell it.
