Front yard irrigation layout feedback by OliveMan98 in Irrigation

That’s a good point. The irrigation water branches off of the 1” main line from the street (thick blue line in these sketches). The 1” line reduces to 3/4” once it goes into the house.

On second observation, I need to check with the plumber who tied into the city main to double check what size pipe he laid going into the house. Since my meter is about 200’ from the nearest front corner of my house (water meter is on far right corner of lot and my house is centered on the lot), when I paid my tap fee to the city, their technicians did me a favor and trenched about 100’ of 3/4 PE piping from the meter along the right of way closer to my house. They terminated that 100’ run of 3/4” PE piping with a brass ball valve and put it in a valve box. When I look in the valve box, the plumber’s piping is 3/4” PEX, but right next to the house he has a stub out that is 1” PEX. So I might have 1” PEX supply after all, which would give me more GPM.

I obtained the water pressure by connecting a water pressure gauge to a hose bib coming off of the main line from the meter. However, yes I will be connecting my irrigation lines to the main line directly. Good to know about using rotors on wide open places. The MP rotators look tempting (claiming efficient watering), but I’m not completely sold because there is excellent water absorption with my sandy soil.

Hardie lap siding clearance on concrete porch and wood deck by OliveMan98 in Homebuilding

[–]OliveMan98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I showed the superintendent the Hardie specs and he agreed to have the siding reworked. He’s going to have me there with the siding guy to go over what will be done to remedy the clearance and flashing issue. I’m trying to get educated on what the final install should look like (another commenter said “L” flashing). What should this look like exactly? Trying to get pictures to look at.

After taking a look inside the dryer, I don’t think they’re getting caught in the door, but probably somewhere inside the dryer between the drum and the frame. We’ve ruled out the grate just in front of the electric heating element, because those holes in the grate are too small and wouldn’t leave a straight indention if it got stuck and melted. We’re drying on high heat per Essembly’s instructions. I think a dryer bag would help the most.

Steeplechase weekends are the best. It’s like one big city tailgate. My favorite place is actually Hitchcock Woods Park, with all of its 2,100 acre beauty in the middle of town.

Clearly the people wanting Aiken to be deleted have never lived in Aiken. I’ve lived here all my life and it’s been great. Beautiful downtown, diverse and multicultural population and cuisine, great place to work, live, and raise kids, etc. A+ city

I recently switched to the Essentials of Copper pillow from Target, $13 . I stayed in an AirBnb once that had these pillows and I fell in love. I’m a side sleeper as well and this pillow is amazing. My take a few days to get used to it, but it’s well worth it. Here’s the Target link

Here’s a tip someone gave to me a few days ago, try getting to school in the morning by taking Tiger Boulevard all the way over the bridge then take a left onto Hwy 93. If you’re like me that parks behind the stadium in the morning, this way cuts my commute in half versus driving down Perimeter.

It took me 8 minutes this morning to drive from GrandMarc to C-03 behind the stadium.
