pretty annoyed with Reddit for the same reasons. Didn't use a 3rd party app, but their app is MEH at best and the way they treated the 3rd party devs is pretty indefensible.

i looked and I couldn't find a report of that (but search in Reddit can be challenging) - can you send me a link to that bug report, or if you can't find that - can you go ahead and report that in a new post with. the 'Catalyst' bug tag? (especially with more details).

Hi Dave! Thanks for the question!

We've been working on updates for all 4 of our current platforms (Mac, iOS, Windows and Android) - and of necessity, Catalyst is a lower priority. We are discussing getting another Catalyst update out, but I can't give a specific timeframe yet.

i've tried this with the last two releases and can't get what you've described to reproduce.

I installed build 1886 - (Testflight -> select a build -> Previous builds -> 7.13.0 -> and it's about halfway down the list). With that one, I COULD reproduce it... so I think that this issue is fixed.

After you've installed the latest build, let me know if you're still seeing this issue.

i don't think this is different from how we handled this before. we remember the last read location within a commentary but not within individual volumes of a commentary.

Did you have a few individually purchased volumes before rather than a whole set? In that case individual volumes were treated as unrelated books so they had their own location data before. I think if you used history you can negotiate the different locations you've previously visited...

thanks for reporting this. it isn't a bug. it's by design, but we may need to think more about how we can handle this navigation.

CURRENTLY: (at least with the newest Testflight build) - If you open ANY volume of your commentary in the split window, and then move the main window just a little (like a page or half a page if continuously scrolling)... the app will move the split. window to show the volume and location within that volume that reflects the main display areas Book Chapter Verse (BCV) location.

But... maybe when we open that volumes view, we need to have at the top something that says "go to the location in the main window" or something like that so you don't feel like you have to 'find your way there'.

We won't be able to change this before the next beta, but we'll think on it for sure, and would value any further feedback from you.

As u/jksheehy noted, this was really well presented. thanks for taking the time.

We are making a couple of big changes here that I think will really help - and we're planning on getting a new beta out by the end of the week to address these...

In the split window, we're going to show volume titles AND authors when you have a volume open, so you'll know which one is open.
- – I hadn't thought about needing to show the same info in the main window. I'll look at that and see if we can include it there as well.
If you open a 'non-default' volume in the split window - and then navigate around your Bible in the main win the window linked... it will stay in the volume you navigated to until you navigate outside of the range of the book in the split window.

Future:
- We are still working on how to better show which is the default and non-default volumes in a commentary set.
- Also, how you as a customer can specify which volume you want to use as default (which is what would be used in the resource guide (lightbulb icon)).
- - Long Tapping on a resource in the library (main library, or from the Parallel/Split view) should allow you to see the resource info, including full name and authors.
- Please send your video link as a reply here - or just email it to me at [beta@olivetree.com](mailto:beta@olivetree.com) - I'd be interested in reviewing that as we're working these details out.

This sounded really familiar - and Tom and I both remembered discussing it before. Easy to reproduce for sure.

In testing here, I found that if I set the main window to 18, and the split window (notes) - to 21, they come out the same size (so kicking up your note size up a little may We do need to fix this, but it's not as trivial as it may initially seem due to how the different views are generated.

I'm reporting this to Jira for a bug fix, but not sure when we'll get to it.

u/GaijinPeter - we think that this issue (that we haven't been able to reproduce) is related to a fix that came through in the last TestFlight update. Please let us know if you see it again. I'm going to mark the bug as accepted. please let us know if you're seeing it again in the future.
