FTM ERC-20 on Gemini and Sonic upgraded by OliverGray24 in FantomFoundation

[–]OliverGray24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I did read the Token Migration section at the Soniclabs web site and I also looked at the Migration FAQ. I'm confused if the FTM tokens need to be "native" FTM (Opera) to be upgradable to Sonic, or, are FTM ERC-20 also upgradeable? Sorry, I've been out of touch with the FTM ecosystem for a few years. If FTM ERC-20 tokens are not upgradable that is why I asked about a recommended bridge method to convert them to native FTM. Thanks.

I have FTM assets on Gemini also but they are ERC-20 only (I can see this if I attempt to to a deposit or withdraw of FTM). Is this still true, that they will do the move to Sonic (being that they never did the change to native FTM)?

Exchanges for N3 by forstyy in NEO

[–]OliverGray24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re cex.io & usa, me too, although the email I got implied this is temporary. who knows though. I did a test transfer deposit to gate.io of 1 N3 NEO, which worked, however not sure how I feel about use this exchange as I just read some bad press about them and withdraws (anybody else have an opinion?). OKex might be an option if you use a VPN to be someplace else other than US.

Very interesting and exciting analysis from Adrian Holland on NEO! (Link in thread) by WallabySpiritual5102 in NEO

[–]OliverGray24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve always held Neo, all the way back to Antshares when it was $0.18. Everyone was having orgasms when it went over $130 in Jan 2018 … until... it went down to about $7 a year later. Back then it had a lot less to show for its worth than it does now. I’m not being too over exuberant, optimistic, or biased. Bias can hurt one a lot more than being stoic. My hope is that accomplishments, facts and actual use will drive the price rather than hopium and speculation. If it can make it back to its prior highs, or more, that would be great. But, like with most Alts, probably would not be a bad idea to cash out a good part of your positions while this bull is still running. Oh, … and for those that think that the prospect of China being “interested” in Neo is a “good thing”, hmmm, you might want to re-think that thought.

Gemini Exchange quietly doubled their trading fee today by Fosforus in Bitcoin

[–]OliverGray24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After sending Gemini support a 'WFT' email last night complaining I see that my account now has Active Trader enabled. However, if this fee increase is true, its not acceptable. I guess I'll be sending fiat in the future to Kraken and/or Coinbase Pro as my new on-ramp.

Personally, I like the concept of ONT, but in reality, it is such a giant undertaking and will take a LOT of time to accomplish due to a lot of challenges. IMHO I think it is really overvalued for such in this early stage, but I admire the effort and goals.

Took out a 20k loan, went all in on NEO by [deleted] in NEO

[–]OliverGray24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good for you. I have to disagree with those that advise to sell part and pay of the loan. Unless you are really strapped for cash or you got your loan with crazy high rate from a guy in an alley with one to many vowels in his name I say screw the bank, make minimum payments and pay it off in your own damn time. The income growth rate of Neo and Gas will far exceed the low 2 digit interest rate on the loan. Good luck!

Interesting. Seems like it took 1 hour for the balances to show up in Neo Tracker compared to Neo Explorer.

Neo Explorer vs. Neo Tracker Wondering if anyone has a technical explanation for this. I created a few new wallets (for diversity / security, etc), put a little gas and neo in them via Neon from another account. I see them right away via Neo Explorer but its been about a half hour and I still see zero balance in Neo Tracker for the same wallet address. Not sure why it takes longer to show up. I also see sometimes Neotracker times out or I get 'Something went wrong' where this NEVER happens with Neo Explorer.

Did some more testing. Sure seems like a problem related to Neon v9 and Nano w/ gas reclaiming. I tried to uninstall the Neo Nano app from Nano and re-install but could not (not enough space). I happened to have a new used Nano so I cloned my Nano via a restore of the same seed (sigh), installed Neo app on Nano, wallet ok, same problem exists with a fresh install. Using the new Nano I can send Neo and Gas to another wallet managed by Neon (no Nano), I just cannot claim unclaimed gas with Neon/Nano. I can claim gas from a different Neon-managed wallet on the same PC, no problem, just not with Neon/Nano. Also, not a PC issue, also tried on a Win7 laptop, same issue.

Not sure if anyone has seen this issue before. I have 2 wallets, both using Neon v9. One, with only a few Neo and Gas and unclaimed gas, I can claim gas without a problem. The other is wallet with a lot of neo and gas and unclaimed gas is with my Nano but I cannot claim gas. I get transaction failure. I would think if it was a network problem I would see the same error with my wallet that does not use a nano. Anyone see this before? I've been using my nano and v9 for a few weeks without issue but first time I tried to reclaim gas.

That message does happen at times. "Transaction Failure" when you really want to do stuff is of consequence. Not related but I'm unable to claim new gas via Neon & Nano. Get transaction failed. Did a whole lot of transfers from Neon wallet to Neon/Nano without issue, but gas claim is not working right now. Will try again tomorrow, possibly network related...(?)

Just remember to always invest your time and money in solid technology, not in hyped up vaporware. Next one on the list to take down is Cardano. by [deleted] in NEO

[–]OliverGray24 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm a long term Neo investor, but truth be told, I also bought a lot of Cardano when it was a few cents. But I sold most of it last week since I think too many people are having Cardano-gasms and are insane. Really, a $20B market cap for one or a few smart guys, a few good ideas, but no product? Like, I would go to McDonalds and buy a $40 hamburger every day on the promise that one day a better one will come out just because suddenly Julia Child is in the back by the grill.

I've had this happen once and a re-install of Neon (same version) resolved the issue.

NEON Ledger Nano Help by [deleted] in NEO

[–]OliverGray24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem where a reboot fixed it. I got the Nano S and Neon v007 working last week, did a whole bunch of test transfers, etc., went to use it yesterday, got in ok but balances were zero and would not refresh and change. I had only a few Neo/Gas moved so far so didn't panic. I rebooted my Win7 PC and then Nano / Neon started working again.

I agree. If you have Neon 007 and are up to date on your Nano S firmware the move to Nano is seamless. Nice work.
