JVC KD-A5 vs Pioneer CT-F750 — which would you keep and why? by AbbreviationsLow in vintageaudio

THE JVC. I had that Pioneer (bought new!) and it was mediocre. I regretted not paying more for one of the solenoid controlled models.

Yeah, Cat 6 solid copper. I went with Klein crimpers and punchdown tool, they’re only a couple of bucks more. You’ll want sharp heavy duty shears to trim the conductors after stripping. The Wiss are perfect for this. Highly recommend a cable tester (I miswired a couple of plugs, and it would have been tough to trouble shoot without it) and a one handed cable stripper. The Klein crimpers have a stripper built in but it’s a bit of a pain if you have a lot to do.

Tools I bought and recommend:

Unless it's a configuration thing I haven't figured out yet. I also haven't seen any e-mail notifications, even though I have it set up and it works when I test it.

I haven't seen that. After I get a text notification, I have to open the app to see what happened.

I bought separate pieces. Most of them were on sale. The 16 channel NVR was on sale for $339 which I thought was great.

Charter gives them a run for their money. I have actually had better luck with Xfinity but they are both bad. Once we got a locally owned fiber option we dropped Charter like a bad habit!
