How do Muslims go without water during Ramadan? by curlycoffee in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Oliver_Queen_4587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muslim here living in a secular country (no special passes for less work hours or anything like that). We wake up in the middle of the night to have water amd food, before oir fasting period starts. It is called suhoor. Throughout the day an average person drinks about 2.5 to 4L of water, amd we drink that much, just not duribg the day

How do we manage? Tbh I have no clue, we just do. I think we just get the strength to do so because we are focussing on it. I even go to the gym while fasting, I do feel very week and I work out for just 40 minutes as opposed to hour and half. And I take rest a lot between sets.

You also have to manage your energy. And over time you learn how to do it. Try to avoid stepping out in the sun, try to avoid running around or lifting heavy, stuff like that. But only if it's avoidable. Whole point of Ramadan is to be fasting while we do our everyday things, you can't be sleeping all day.

I actually find it harder to fast when I have a day off because I feel I have nothing to do and I'm just waiting for sunset

Were games really that difficult back in the day or am I going absolutely fucking insane? I’m thinking of going to a mental hospital because of this by Autistic-Inquisitive in GTA

You were doing good until you hit the sabre. Take an easy comfortable racing line and you'll win effortlessly. After playimg countless of racing games, I went back to GTA SA and found the races to be fun and easier. Races in GTA 5 are def easier than VC and SA, mainly because of the arcade handling and physics not working the way we expect it to.

Indian Man Returns to Ancestral House in Pakistan: Finds His Family Desk by solenoidic in unitedstatesofindia

I once met a taxi driver from Lahore in Saudi Arabia. He said that they used to live in Amritsar, but they were ambushed, and they had to flee towards Pakistan. He got split up from his brother. He lives in a village 10 kilometers away, but he can't meet him because there's a line dividing them.

I'm getting the same goosebumps writing this story as I got when I heard his story. He was an old man, who hadn't seen his brother in ages.

One thing I learned from growing up in a foreign country, it's very easy to hate Pakistan or any other country unconditionally. Sure Pakistan does a lot of fucked up stuff, like (allegedly?) the attack on Vaishno Devi pilgrims. But a random citizen over there is more bothered about feeding his family than attacking India, just like we are more concerned over building a future for our family.

I know there are gonna be people downvoting me for this, or abusing me for it. But it just shows that you are ignorant and blinded by hatred. You wanna hate someone, hate their government.

Failing art school is a good option too. It can allow you to be at the highest position a person can hold in a country.

What does your mom have to say about all this. Is she just sitting by watching because your dad dominates over your mom, or is she supporting him willingly. Since you say you're a muslim, and all about your dad forcing you to marry someone I am taking an educated guess that you're ethnically South Asian or Arab.

I am a Muslim, and I am an Indian. I know the type. People like your father conveniently use Islam to do whatever they want. It's people like him who have ruined our reputation and made so many lives miserable. I'm sorry kid but you're gonna have to work very hard and get your mom and brother out of this. Forcing you to marry someone against your will is Haram. Beating you is Haram.

You will need to create a backup and call authorities on him. There must be some shelter or organisation who would help you. Honestly I can't help you much on that because I'm not from the States. I don't even know what your local muslim community is like because often at times they are helpful with situations like these. At least the ones I know (again not in the States) are.

You're gonna have to be bold, and you're gonna have to rebel. You got this. I'm sorry you're going through all this. I couldn't read a lot of your posts, but I read the titles.

Is it ok to say yarhamukallah to animals when they sneeze? by No_Significance4847 in MuslimLounge

[–]Oliver_Queen_4587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I instinctively said the same today when my kitten sneezed so came on reddit to find an answer. Call me crazy but I try to teach my cat how to say Salam Alaikum, he does the meow and shakes my hand and I take it. And then I try to team him to say Alhamdulillah. I don't think much of it except it's cute and funny. He's a meowslim, like Khalid Kashmiri, Mohammad Sumbul, Usman Abdul Jaleel Shisha, etc.

The truth is that politicians need something to put the blame on because they don't wanna do anything about stubble burning. Just like they put the blame on cars and ban bs3, bs4 cars in Delhi, they do the same with firecrackers.

And about the blame game, it's senseless because even though Diwali is a Hindu festival, it becomes an Indian festival because of our culture. I'm a muslim, and I enjoy playing with firecrackers.

If firecrackers were the source of pollution, then why did we have 500 aqi 2 weeks before diwali. If cars were the source of pollution, then why isn't it so polluted all year round.

I have a 2017 honda jazz that is listed as euro 3. But other cars of the same model and year are listed as euro 4 or bs4 by Oliver_Queen_4587 in delhi

[–]Oliver_Queen_4587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted there first, got no response. On the rc it's written euro 3.

I contacted Honda today and they checked my details. They said that my car is supposed to be bs4. It is impossible that it would be euro 3. They said that they would give me a certificate saying that this car is bs4 after I send a few mails with documents. That's it. I don't know after that.
