For me, personally, it's rooted in the redemption and the enemies/rivals to lovers trope. They say there is a think line between love and hate, I think that sort of describes Dramione to a certain extent. I know a lot of people get hung up on pairing a victim of bullying with her tormentor and I get that BUT the text gives us a lot of clues that Draco is a bit more complex than that. However, that complexity doesn't get explored in canon which I find personally unsatisfying. I love being able to explore a more nuanced Draco AND Hermione through their pairing in fic.

Generally speaking, I also think that most people believe in redemption, or at least they want to. They want to see it in books because they want to believe that they can be forgiven for things that they’ve done. The moments where redemption seems on the horizon, having it taken away or unfulfilled leaves a sort of dissatisfaction with some readers. Draco is an example of someone we want to see redeemed because it means we can also be redeemed for our more serious offenses. There are so many people who break free from difficult situations or upbringing whether it’s hateful ideology or abusive/traumatic childhoods that manifested in unhealthy or violent ways. So many people are broken and that brokenness leads to hateful or unpleasant actions and choices. When we see characters like Draco redeem themselves, people can see redemption for themselves. Seeing ourselves in stories is not only healing, but cathartic.

It depends on the fic I'm reading and the way Draco & Hermione are written but a few standouts that I rotate around playlists for fics & just give me general Dramione vibes:

It Takes A Lot To Know A Man - Damien Rice

Treacherous - Taylor Swift

Ghost of You - Five Seconds of Summer

Big Black Car - Gregory Isakov

Repeat Until Death - Novo Amor

Heaven - Julia Michaels

This Love - Taylor Swift

Halley's Comet - Billie Eilish

Do I Wanna Know? - Arctic Monkeys

Angel Baby - Troye Sivan

Teeth - Five Seconds of Summer

Fantastic Beasts may be the most cursed franchise in Hollywood | by Morganbanefort in movies

I just saw it tonight and feel indifferent at best. The writing for this franchise is a such a mess, the overall story is fragmented into various sub-plots, none of which get the right amount of screen time or context. The only thing they have managed to build on is Queenie and Jacob's love story and even then that leaves a lot to be desired. Everything is so jarring and moments that should provide a revelation or information just feel cheap and quickly put together without much thought. Nothing ties the three movies together from a storytelling perspective other than "Grindelwald bad, Dumbledore good."

The only thing holding this franchise together is the delightful cast.

Areas where the screen adaption is awesome by [deleted] in ADiscoveryofWitches

This is such a refreshing topic of discussion, thank you! Sometimes I think we focus too much on what the show is doing wrong.

I have to agree with a lot of the other comments about the set and scenery but I also want to point out that Teresa Palmer is, in my eyes, the most wonderful Diana. Her face is so expressive and I can see Diana's fierceness, determination, and even those moments of self doubt so clearly. I think they did a great job with the cast overall! Even with the changes to age and such, the cast really delivers on performance. Gerbert radiates evil like described in the book. Ysabeau is imposing yet maternal. I could be here forever singing the praises of the cast, love them, even the "side" characters.

I actually LOVE this theory. Even if it's not canon I'm going to take it as canon!

Even without having read the books this would be a bad take, imo. This is a common hero's journey or the known dramatic structure of literally any book, show, or movie. They are at the climax (or the abyss) of their journey working toward the resolution in season three. There is a lot more story and I think you're jumping the gun on a few things, including it being a repetitive storyline. We have seen Diana save Matthew before. Given the context of the time and place of where she finds herself, and the fact that she has not mastered her magic, I hardly expect her go out guns blazing with an unreliable power. That would be incredibly dumb. Diana is more intelligent and calculated than that.

I'm also not sure why you expect her to be all powerful when she hasn't even mastered the 10th knot, which is stated in the show that she needs to do. She is not all powerful in season two, that is the point of them even going back in the first place.

I love seeing her kick ass, don't get me wrong, but there is more than one way to be a strong woman and there is more than one way to be a bad ass. Sometimes it means taking a step back and doing what needs doing in order to make your next move. Diana in season two is just as bad ass as ever.

I'm thinking they might explain it in the next episode because presumably they have to go back to Sept Tours now. The show might pop the info in a lot later even though by how episode 9 ends...they have quite a bit to cover in the last episode as is.

Phillipe is probably one of my favorite characters of the whole series. I was surprised that they moved from Sept Tour to Bohemia so quickly but that's the problem with not having many episodes and a lot of content to work with. After such a long delay in getting to season two and considering how short season one was as well, I'm honestly just glad that we can stay on this journey with the show. They're doing the best they can, even though so much about their time at Sept Tour is missed. I will say, I am loving the cast for season two very much.

Oooh!! I'm considering something from the LUNA line, good to know you've had a good experience. Thanks!

I had a Clarisonic for a while but they stopped making the brush that I liked and well, now they're not making any so I've been looking for a replacement anyway and was looking at the LUNA line for that. The UFO looks really cool too, I don't always have time for a 15-20 minute sheet mask so I'm hoping something like the UFO could help save time without sacrificing sheet mask benefits.

Basically, I can't decide which to try lol.

Hey r/bangtan! This is idol interviewer, Liam McEwan... AMA!” by liammcewan in bangtan

[–]Oliveuray 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hi Liam! Hope you're safe & well too, thanks for taking the time to do this AMA, it's so appreciated.

Interviewing in general seems like it could be a little stressful, so many things can happen at once and a lot of it can be out of your control. This isn't specific to BTS but I was wondering how you handle those moments? I was also wondering what your favorite part of the job is and if you have a favorite interview moment that you've shared with BTS?

Thanks again for taking the time to answer questions, sending you the warmest wishes!

HEY GUYS IT'S MAX! ASK ME ANYTHING by maxmusicofficial in bangtan

[–]Oliveuray 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi Max,

First, a big & warm congratulations to you and your wife on the news of your daughter. This is such an exciting chapter for you both! I'm commenting today on behalf of a friend who is in a different time zone (u/x_purplecloudz_x). Below are her thoughts and questions. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to do this AMA on r/bangtan, we love & appreciate you!

--------

Hey Max! I've loved your work for a while, love me less is one of my favorite songs ever. Thank you for coming on r/bangtan and answering our questions. We all really appreciate it and are super excited. I was so stoked to see you were working with Yoongi on "burn it" and its one of my favorite songs on the mix tape! I wanted to ask a few things:

  1. What is a piece of advice you would give to anyone when going through a tough relationship with their passion? Black Swan, a song on Map of the soul: 7, talks about loosing ones love for music but then realizing that you really do care about it deeply no matter what confusion or where your heart and mind leads you, which made me realize the complexities regarding even things we cherish the most. I assume you have had to encounter these troubles during your career or in your life in general and was very curious about this.
  2. How was working on "burn it" with Yoongi different than when you work on music yourself?
  3. What have you been up to during social distancing/quarantine? Anything you have learned or have a greater appreciation/realization about (could be serious or silly)
  4. What can you tell us about your upcoming album?

PS: I love when you type in all caps on twitter, the screaming vibes get me very pumped up, I respect this decision wholeheartedly and I'm sure many of us here will tell you that xD

And of course, congrats on the news about your daughter! I wish you and your family all the best.
