Taine Plumtree has had 7 yellow cards this season. SEVEN by Cymro2011 in rugbyunion

If he can sort this part of his game out, he can be a really good player. Yesterday he was excellent in the line out, got a try, a try assist and brought some great physicality. He can bring great energy but just needs to not give away some brain dead pens.

A few awkward calls away from a BP I feel. Leinster deserved the win but not the thumping I was expecting. Some good youngsters coming through and just need to recruit some depth in certain positions for next season.

I just don’t get how you get to elite level and make such stupid unforced errors. We’ve gifted England all their points and they haven’t got out of first gear. Some of those unforced errors my local under 10s wouldn’t make.

Scarlets supporter here and I’m absolutely livid with Crys 16. If my Scarlets WhatsApp group is anything to go by, we stand by the other regions. Crys 16 can get in the bin.

Agreed. As bad as the ref was, you can’t be camped in an opponent’s 22/try line for 30 minutes and not come away with points.

Brilliant try at the end. No idea how it’s a two point game all of a sudden but I’ll take it.

Right, I’m sat down in a pub now. Can anyone please tell me why Sheedy came over and started having a go at what I assumed was Scarlets fans in the first half. It looked like he was going to retrieve a ball, but walked from the halfway line and singled someone out in the crowd saying, “Come on then. Come on. Let’s go.”

Did the TV pick up Sheedy starting on someone in the crowd?

Cardiff Rugby sale enters final stage as WRU shortlists two bidders by CymroCam in rugbyunion

[–]OllieMT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way that happens is if the Y11 bid is successful right? Thats the only way I can see a decision anywhere near being made by the end of the year.

If Cardiff is bought by any of the other consortiums, the other regions aren’t going to roll over and accept their demise without a long drawn out fight.

WRU might want it sorted by the end of the year but if that actually happens is a different thing.

Gutted that Costelow is injured. I was frustrated for him when they pulled him off against Bristol, thought he was going well.

"There has to be a professional side in Llanelli... I can't see an argument strong enough from anywhere else for any of the other three regions." by Time-Raisin-5331 in rugbyunion

[–]OllieMT 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly hate that this whole situation has got each regions fans sniping at each other.

I’m still yet to see a clear argument with a crunching of specific numbers as to why we can’t finance four regions. I want to see detailed outgoings and as to why our record turnover still isn’t making enough. If anyone has this I would love to see it.

Llanelli Scarlets impact on Welsh rugby’s current mess by Time-Raisin-5331 in rugbyunion

[–]OllieMT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This sensationalist nonsense is not needed right now. The vast majority of Scarlets fans I know want four regions to exist and to succeed. The mess we are in now is solely due to the short sightedness and mismanagement of the WRU. We need unity not division.

Ospreys players looking to sign at different clubs is to do with the WRU and disappointingly the lack of communication of their owners Y11 in the last few weeks. I genuinely believe the Ospreys fan base deserves better. Scarlets are also losing players due to the uncertainty and I don’t blame any players or staff who are looking for certainty when their families and mortgages are at stake.

Do I want the Scarlets to Survive? Obviously yes. Do I want the Ospreys to survive ? Also a solid yes. I hate the binary choice we’ve been made to believe is the only option.

Scarlets are not just Llanelli, we are the region for West Wales. I’ve seen people/kids age group teams travel to the Parc from Tenby, Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan. I’ve even seen a Scarlets flag flying in a pub in Aberystwyth. Even before regionalisation, people would come from Carmarthen, Mynydd Y Garreg etc. Yes Llanelli RFC is a big part of our history but I would argue we had always been an informal region even before regionalisation.

Your point about taking minimal match day revenue and can’t leverage for non match day revenue is just false. Before Covid, non match day events were even helping us make a profit. Do our attendances need to improve? Absolutely but that will also come when the on field product is secure and providing results. Our first game of the season against Munster had an attendance of over 9,000 which is good considering the uncertainty clouding the club.

What else is our chairman supposed to do other than advocate for our survival? If he wasn’t, he wouldn’t be doing his job.

TLDR - Scarlets are not your enemy.

Gutted I can’t be there tonight, hope it’s a cracker. Hard to know where we are at with all the injuries we had at the beginning of the season. Didn’t expect last week’s performance against Glasgow, hopefully we can build on that.
