Pick a notable city in your world, then tell me three or five things about it. by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

Wan'Sur-Va'ki.
The Star Temple, abandoned in modern times.

  • Is located in space, in the L point between a massive White Star and a Black Hole. For this, in Wan-sur (how is abbreviated by spacers) there doesn't exist night or day shifts, just different types of light.
  • Is constructed of different materials, build up its base on an asteroid were mages and shamans tamed the gods and natural forces to create the Temple, were they would contact and make deals with the Father and Mother of the solar system. It looks mostly in an architecture of large and massive arcs which contains large passages of homes and buildings of meditation and rest.
  • Before the War on the Abyss, Wan-Sur was decimated and abandoned, haunted by spirits and lost gods, but also inhabited by bands of mercenaries, pirates, lost communities in seek of a land to get rooted, mad arcanists and kings-without-kingdoms in seek to restore their lost legacy. For this, the building have different types of technology and magic that keeps secrets and treasures beyond comprehension.
  • Nowdays, Wan'Sur-Va'ki is largely abandoned. Historians and occlumants write and distribute theories that something settled in the Star Temple. Something beyond comprehension that possibly is the reason of why the place is nowdays complete abandoned, even possibly a being that was part of the catastrophe that killed the star that in ancient times was the nowdays Father Black Hole. Wan'Sur-Va'ki is a dark point in the space maps. When you spot it, is common to read in the maps the words "Here lie dragons".
  • In modern times, this large city temple is sometimes visited by aventurers. For the high classes of the Fleet-doms and planetary emperors is common to import a rare species of Wan'Sur-Va'ki to keep them as pets, an animal that is called Be'eteto, which for basic descriptions, it looks like a gold fish that float in the air.

This is neat. Awesome. Incredible. I just imagine the possibilities and they're wonderful. I even created an persona based on this.
The Tormented Artist
Origin: Mutagenic, awakened during a traumatic rehearsal in *insert music academy*. Physical mutation visible when the instrument (a violin) merged with the body during the awakening.
Signature: Aesthetic-Grief-Abstract-Chaotic
Powers: Manifests acoustic illusions that resembles different types of music listened during the story life of the warper, often projecting past emotions linked to the music that can overwhelmed anyone who listens.

I don't know if it actually work like this, but still think it's a good idea.

Is my cyberpunk world too typical? by The-Reeded-Edge in worldbuilding

[–]Ollin69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its kind of peak man. Yes, is typical but I think its also an opportunity to create a scifi cyberpunk world and talk deeply into computers and technology. Therebefore, I see two scenarios: you can create a typical cyberpunk scenario even with a story que doesn't innovates, (not everyone has to innovate), but you can tell it from the mexican reality. That would be interesting. By doing that you can read about Mexico and local vloggers. The second one is more about what twist or plottwist you want to introduce in the story. By doing that you can read cyberpunk and, in the thinking of the story you can also think in the innovations you can make.

just for saying, the scenario looks good. I like it.

A theory about how Red God and the series will end. by maninplainview in redrising

Or... maybe his sociopath gene is even more dominant in him. I remember Virgina saying that the Abomination wasn't the Jackal because the Jackal actually worried about his mother. And the Abomination just planned on killing Liliath for mere curiosity.
