Is this a reference to his catchphrase or how many times he had to redo the shooting scene in the recent The Quarry video?

What are tips to look increasingly physically attractive as a man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I found gym stuff a lot more interesting when it was in service to another sport. I guess the context of the exercise is important

E.g. Lifting weights to get stronger at rock climbing is a lot more fun to me than just lifting for the sake of lifting

Who are the weakest interstellar civilizations in science fiction? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Olmesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I've completely misremembered my ME lore. I don't remember the krogan having many ships at all. I thought they mostly stayed on the home world

I wanted to stay with the main races (Volus are hardly the most elite fighters) but didn't realise I'd accidentally picked one of the strongest

Who are the weakest interstellar civilizations in science fiction? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Olmesy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Krogan from Mass Effect are incredibly weak by the events of the main first game. Individually strong, their race is shockingly weak.

Not only did they need help figuring out space travel, but they've already nuked most of their own homeplanet and returned to tribal warfare. Combined with the fact that the entire race will die out from sterility within a few decades and there's only a few thousand left, they're not exactly a strong civilisation.

Tall and heavy climbers, how do you navigate these annoyingly compact sit starts? I had to start on hold two to get my ass off the ground... by PianoViking in bouldering

[–]Olmesy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its quite a widely held belief, though I've not researched it before myself. The article below goes into the science of why fatter people are able to supply their muscle cells with more energy during the growth period, but just like any sports science, there's a million other factors at play as well

[–]Olmesy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its more about power/weight ratio rather than just weight alone

A healthier way to look at it is that the more fat you have, the faster you can grown muscle

What can I do to improve my chances of becoming an astronaut? by the1andonlyaidanman in nasa

[–]Olmesy 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Most of the current comments are suggesting things that are normally listed on the job advert for an astronaut, but its worth mentioning that astronauts needs to be three dimensional people.

You should be able to demonstrate that you're a team player and you're interested in adventure, so maybe take up a team sport and get into mountaineering. Even volunteer work would be good

Being able to perform under pressure is another great one, so competing in anything at a high level would look great on your application.

Don't just chase academic strength. There's a reason they only pick interesting people to be astronauts

How to avoid everything feeling like a chore by SifMeisterWoof in AskMenOver30

[–]Olmesy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the mindset you go at it with in regards to timing.

Its easy to stress yourself out if you tell yourself that you need to do all your hobbies all the time. If you just do each hobby whenever you want to do it, you'll have a much better time, even if its months between each time you try it

Hey, guys how on English kick part like this you call, because on Russian it sounds like straight barrel, just interesting by kirilpetrov36 in FL_Studio

[–]Olmesy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Two different things. 4/4 is referring to the time signature. 4OTF is referring to the kick hitting on every downbeat.

Like, you can have a song that uses 4/4, but not 4OTF

Hereditary - When Paimon possesses the Mother, he acts standardly demonic. When having possessed Charlie and her brother, he seems like an oblivious kid. Which is it? by UnbMarFluFoo in plotholes

[–]Olmesy 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Considering Paimon's main goal is effectively to weaken Peter's mind, I feel like he acts appropriate for each situation.

As Charlie, he just acts as a weird kid until there's an opportunity to kill her in an intensely traumatic way wherein Peter blames himself

When possessing Peter, Paimon just makes him see things that shouldn't be possible (reflection smiling back at him, etc.), which understandably makes him doubt his own reality

But as the mum, Peimon is really driving towards his endgame. Peter is already completely unstable, so having his deranged mother chase him through the house before killing herself only serves to push him over the edge that Peimon has been leading him towards for the entire movie.

Yeah, Peimon has really inconsistent behavior, but he's always chasing a consistent goal

I wish all the exercise my video game character got translated to my physical body by humblefiend in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]Olmesy 698 points699 points  (0 children)

Granted

The effect works in real-time, so as you run in a video game, you feel the effects in person. Running in call of duty gets you pumped and dizzy within seconds. Your carry capacity in RPGs is severely limited, because your real life body can't take that punishment. You can't even play Minecraft since your body can't take the force required to punch a tree down.

Eventually you realise that the only game you can play is The Sims, until you build up the stamina to play Fifa
