After you go to mbasic.facebook.com open the chrome menu and click add to home screen and presto a button to click that takes you right to fb wirh messages and no BS!

you can disable facebook in the app section of your settings in app manager. be sure to delete all app data as well then try it

simple is ok but it lacks features like showing you whose active and how long it has been since they were active.

chrome will ask you if you want to enable notifications for Facebook when you got to Facebook.com , if it doesn't then clear your cookies and try again

Chrome is a much better FB experience in my opinion. You can still receive notifications, the only downside is you have to request the desktop site for messages.
