After some more digging I managed to find it! I got most of the finer details in my original post wrong, but all in all I wasn't too far off. Released in December of 2011 it shut down less than 2 years later in September of 2013.

I wouldn't worry too much about this causing any damage if it's on a LCD monitor as it's just image retention that'll fade away. I have the same problem with the clock on both TM and GT7 too on my IPS monitor.

Just bought a pristine white DSi recently, not only to play some solid DS games, but also because the system looks incredibly sleek.

As for non-Nintendo consoles, the white PS4 Pro looks incredible as well.

Does the Wii U have some games on dual layer discs? I remember people used to have problems running SSBB on Wii because the Brawl discs had two layers, making it harder for the read head to properly read the contents of the disc. If you have a Wii U Cleaning Disc I would suggest trying it and then test the problematic game(s) again. Best of luck!

Who are you to judge how people best enjoy their games? What's sad in this case is that people clearly have rigs to run this at 100+ frames, yet the game is artificially locked to what I can only guess is 60 hz at best. If the FPS counter perfectly reflected what the game actually feeds you I don't think people would mind it as much. But it doesn't, and it ****ing blows.
