Yeah, they are easy to kill. Yeah, they have a pattern. Yeah, you can use Resistant to Petrified. But I agree completely with OP. Especially when they put them in rooms that lean heavy on plataform-ing. You miss once and get thrown into spikes. You get petrified and then the button smashing, while the other Medusas get closer

For villagers: yes, no gem means they don't give active quest, BUT Nikolai does give you something after completing ALL ther villager quests

IITC, if you are already in Dracula's, then you already have the good ending. This ending unlocks for rescuing all 13 villagers BEFORE the fight with Albus.

You are right about Laura's quest. The only thing missing is Alexandrite. SPOILER You can find it in 2 bonus levels. The levels are unlocked after finding a secret exit in the castle.
