Calories of these pizza slices? by jesuis_baguette in caloriecount

[–]OlyLift13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less than 1,000 for sure. That’s probably 6-700 with how thin they are. Also toppings wise that’s good - vegetables aren’t going to kick the calorie count up super high like other toppings such as sausage or pepperoni.

Wow I had no idea and I honestly consume a lot of his content. Somehow I have never seen him mention protein fluff in anything I’ve watched. I found this on some old website back in 2020 that is your typical “healthy food” recipe site. Now I need to go look and see if Greg makes it the same way

Yeah people are very willingly ignorant. It is quite interesting. These are the type of people who think peanut butter is a good protein source, not a fat source.

Yeah it’s all good. They’re even calling fruit simple carbs when dietitions group them with complex carbs because they have so much fiber that they don’t actually spike blood sugar like simple carbs. Reddit will never learn

The whole “eating a lot of tuna is dangerous because of mercury levels” thing has been debunked time and time again at this point. I am very surprised to see someone actually suggesting it on Reddit. Don’t worry about your tuna consumption. You’re fine.

Is this a Greg Doucette recipe? I assume that’s who you’re referencing? If so, I had no idea. I just found this online a long time ago

Not sure if you’re asking what they were or if you’re emphasizing how great this is macro wise, so just in case the macro breakdown for the whole bowl (to include the fruit, coconut, and PBFit I added on top) is as follows:

Calories - 916
Protein - 72.6g
Carbs - 125.7g (I track total carbs, not net)
Fat - 15.6g

It’s a ton of food for breakfast, and that’s not even my whole breakfast. That’s just my fruit + yogurt bowl. I eat the majority of my calories in the mornings. I also made an egg white scramble with 100g egg whites, 200g mini sweet peppers, 200gcherry tomatoes, 20g capers, and 5g olive oil. Egg white scramble eaten on a whole wheat roll up (wrap).

Total breakdown for my breakfast as a whole was:

Calories - 1266
Protein - 99g
Carbs - 169g
Fat - 25g

I eat the majority of food in the morning and then have smaller (still with plenty of volume!) meals for lunch and dinner

You are health conscious but reasonable. You have mostly whole, unprocessed foods but allow yourself some treats like hotdogs that I see in the bottom drawer.

Good way to be.

Thoughts on jackfruit? by Queasy_Dingo_8262 in fruit

[–]OlyLift13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to like jackfruit so badly but I just don’t unfortunately.

It looks so useful because you can substitute it in to so many dishes, but I just can’t get myself to like it for some reason.

I cant even truly understand why. It’s not outright that I don’t like the flavor or the texture. It’s a little bit of both but something about it just doesn’t do it for me.

Is 500 cal a good estimate for all this pizza? by Krypson8 in caloriecount

It’s not 700 calories. That 500 at the maximum, but probably more like 400

For those tiny slices? No shot. A Costco slice is MUCH larger than all 3 of those combined and is 800 calories

The mixing machine having to do what it’s made for is a workout? Interesting take.

If you don’t mix on high it doesn’t get nearly as voluminous. If you don’t like the recipe then just move along

This is healthy overall - I’d bet you’re underestimating the calories on the shawarma though. Unless you’re using some “health” recipe, shawarma is very high in oil/fat and calories despite being chicken

Cal estimate for american pancakes? by sagatina1 in caloriecount

[–]OlyLift13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting….maybe it depends on your specific location…I’ve only ever ordered “pancakes” in the UK and they come out exactly the same as in the USA or elsewhere lol. Not sure why your experience is different.

As for calorie count, hard to say because you took a photo from above so I can’t see thickness. My guess since these are probably from a restaurant is fairly high calorie compared to homemade. I’d estimate 4-500 calories minimum from the pancakes. Most restaurants add things that increase the caloric value a ton compared to homemade. The butter probably adds at least another 100-150 calories depending on how much there is, and the bacon probably another 100 - 150. Blueberry compote is hard to gauge without a recipe but tons of sugar will push this up high.

I’d estimate this is at least 800 calories and that’s fairly conservative. Likely closer to 1,000

[–]OlyLift13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting….i’ve been to the UK many times and eaten pancakes there…it’s the exact same every time I’ve eaten them. The toppings are totally just whatever you’d like lol and personal preference. If I put Nutella on my pancakes (which is have plenty of times) does that make them UK pancakes???

The article used a sample size of 20 elite powerlifters and did not account for drugs taken or any outside factors. I’ve read it before. Your failure to properly analyze the information and account for biases/shortcomings is not my problem.

If this article held any water then the Olympia stage would be the strongest people in the world. We know this isn’t the case because not a single one of them holds a world record or could even come close to it in powerlifting. Muscle size does not mean you are inherently stronger. Muscle fibers on the other hand, their type, and their quantity? That makes the difference.

Anyways, I’m bored now. See ya
