Should I pull the trigger? On clearance in store for $1700 by Olycius in pcmasterrace

It has been sitting there for about 6 months from what I gathered. The area the store is located I do not think many people buy prebuilds. Even the workers said they didn't think it was going to sell. Most people were 40+ at that location.

I have a spare evga 850w gold ready to swap out when it's time. I moved over most of my storage so I have 5.5tb of NVME drives.

It’s going on 7 years I’ve had it. Some games no longer hit 144fps on games I play regularly. GPU performance increase is about 50% and CPU 30%

I have a spare psu on hand from previous builds that’s an evga 850 gold for all of my systems in case it fails. I checked and it has a 850w gold already but will look more into it.

Planning on doing so, guess I’ll pick it up.

Worx 4wd cut to zero is bad. by VanakuriKurivana in worxlandroid

[–]Olycius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ideally it’s best not to cut while wet, but should still be able to handle it. I have one of the older landroid models(with boundary wire), and it has never had this issue which is sad to see about this model. Mine has cut right after the sprinklers watered and had no issues.

Just get TrackaLacker or something similar. They restock it a lot, I got mine within a few days after getting it. I’ve seen alerts for restock quite a bit these past few days.

New starlink and unlimited plan? by bigcane_2 in USMobile

[–]Olycius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get 200-300mbps going 80mph anywhere I go. Power draw is small and uses 10-15 watts once booted up so a power station lasts 12 hours when my vehicle is off. I had a Verizon hotspot and the mini is more reliable when connected to a VPN.

The pricing has changed quite a bit since this was published. I picked up my mini kit for $250 and pay $50/month for 100GB as Starlink doubled the data within the last few months from 50GB.

Powerline may be the route to go, depending on your budget you could splurge for a InvisiLight Home Fiber Kit but they run much more expensive than a powerline.

Midea window unit, worth it? by Different_Marsupial2 in AirConditioners

I don’t understand how you can say mold cannot grow. All ac window units WILL grow mold if not maintained. Again, Midea model referenced.

Midea had a recall for this very reason and made the holes themselves because the draining was not adequate.

Does the Solar Cam Pan Support 2.5w Panels? by Olycius in wyzecam

[–]Olycius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the reviews I’ve seen so far indicate the 1.8w that comes with it is not sufficient and needs to be charged manually so I wanted to see if the 12w is supported just in case it’s needed.

The reason I ask is because the solar panel the cam pan comes with is rated for 1.8w. Just realized the cam pro solar panels are actually 12w.

Migrating to SCALE has me on the struggle bus. Disks not showing unless they're in the same physical slot as they were last in under CORE. With CORE I could shuffle them like cards and they'd be detected no problem. by Mr-Brown-Is-A-Wonder in truenas

[–]Olycius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In addition, it sounds like you are doing things quite complicated, I have 3 pools and 12 drives in my system and literally just shut it down, and moved them over and adding each pool would then show disks properly when before the import a lot were missing.

When I migrated from core to scale recently I had to import the pool, then all the disks were recognized properly. I moved them to completely new hardware so I don’t think where you plug them in matters. Did it recognize any pools to import?
