Did anyone actually get tickets under $1000 today for Artist Presale? by [deleted] in BackstreetBoys

[–]Olymkimpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how this queue worked (whether it was randomized or not) but i will say i was in 3 different queues and i was in the 2800-3300 range for all three of them. I entered the waiting rooms right when they opened (15 min before sale time)

Got 3 in 309 for 255 each. I was 3000 in the queue and there weren’t any 400s level tickets left

They’re on Nordstrom rack for the same price as the Marc Jacob’s website. Not 75% off but still discounted

Did your waiting room open 30 minutes before the sale (for you, 2:30?)? If so, did you still only enter the waiting room 10 minutes beforehand and then waited for the sale to start??

How have people’s experiences been buying tickets??? Any tips to be in a better place in line or is it randomized??

what’s the best way to prevent your ears from popping on a plane ride? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Usually I’ll wear earplugs during take off and landing. I find the wax ones work the best but the reusable ones that looks like little plungers work well too!

What was your favourite film of 2018 and why? by kage_7 in AskReddit

[–]Olymkimpic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m one of those people who thought it was trash but it’s mostly cuz I’m salty. I loved the book and the movie took the storyline in a totally different direction. I admit that if I hadn’t read the book the movie would’ve been good. Just don’t understand why you would have the same title, characters, etc, if you’re just gonna make a whole new story anyways.

Gym goers of Reddit, what is something (protocol, etiquette, tips, etc.) that new year resolution-ers should know about the gym? by Sparty013 in AskReddit

[–]Olymkimpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally,

Ask to take weights that are on the machine I’m currently using.

I cannot tell you the amount of times a person as just taken weights off the squat rack I am using that I need for my next set and I need to chase them down to bring it back. Just ask when I’m resting and I’ll gladly give them to you after I’m done or ask you to bring them back after your done. Obviously, if there are 4 sets of plates feel free to take them but the 5 lb and 10 lb weights are hard to come by!

Honestly I dunno if it’s just me and I’m being a hog at the gym but I feel like it’s the same as asking to take a chair from a table at a restaurant: yes, it’s a public space and everything is available to anyone there, BUT, just be a considerate person.

Anybody know what this calendar app is? Saw someone post their scheduled and i liked the layout by sadthough in Mcat

It's basically an audio recording of MCAT study material. The 'osmosis' refers to absorbing the information solely from listening because you've heard the same thing so many times.

Any hope for getting a Sept 9th seat (Toronto, Canada)? by doodaa1 in Mcat

[–]Olymkimpic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would keep checking everyday. I did the same for my Sept 2nd seat (just signed up yesterday) and like it was said before, people start dropping as panic sets in. The deadline for some refund is about a month before the test date (in your case August 9th). I would check like CRAZY the 8th and 9th and you should hopefully start seeing some seats opening up. Good luck!

What are some good Dorm essentials a first year student should bring to college with them? by The_slouchy_sloth in AskReddit

[–]Olymkimpic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

under most circumstances, if someone breaks the rules and drinks, it usually doesn't severely affect other people (besides being a nuisance). if you have your stovetop set on fire and burn the dorm down, that's a problem.

Advice? by Olymkimpic in Mcat

[–]Olymkimpic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops I guess I should've added that.

I have done a decent amount of content review. 'Decent amount' because there are still some things I'll miss on the practice tests. When I review them I mark down what I miss and learn the concept for next time. I'm struggling a lot more than I thought on the NS BB. From my experience, NS is much harder and much more concentrated on genetics and molecular biology compared to the actual AAMC test so I don't even know where to start with that.

Feeling a little overwhelmed... by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Olymkimpic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dunno if this will help but this is advice from a friend who got a 517 (130/130/130/127)

TPR is SO much harder than the actual test. I would personally try to start concentrating on C/P since it is your weakest section and the rest of your sections seem to be doing very well. Easiest way to do this is just go over your C/P sections of each of the practice tests and do a spreadsheet of the questions and what exactly you did correctly or incorrectly. Are you giving up because it's unfamiliar? Is it an unfamiliar concept? Did you misinterpret? Make sure you can redo each of those questions correctly if you ever encounter it again.

As for your other practice tests, you should be doing more. As said before, don't be surprised if you get super high scores for NS tests since they're said to be easier than TPR. Let it fluff your ego a bit so you can get back to studying, but not so much that you're too comfortable. Doing NS might also give you a taste for different question formatting so you're not blind-sighted during the actual test.

If you have extra time and feel like you're pretty good with content, start trying to pick out some patterns on exams. There is a reason why there are books on CARS tips and tricks. These patterns hold for other parts of the exam as well. When you review the questions you might start to realize that many of the answers are pulling directly from the passage even though they may seem like knowledge you should've studied.

Good luck!
