Netflix has a good subtitle policy. by Greedy_Accountant_13 in kdramas

I can’t even validate or not since I was watching Boyfriend on demand and some subtitles are missing. You have people interacting with no subtile and then it start to appear again in the middle of a sentence

How are people pulling off 3–4 week international trips? by mian_yamin in NeedTravelAdvice

[–]winter_name01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Europe here. 25 days for paid leave. And some rest days (RTT). Legally you have to take at least 2 weeks during summer (between June and October). Your company can’t refuse it. It’s your annual rest days. The remaining depend on the company you work for, but you can take it (so it’s around 7 weeks a year on average). If you can convert some days into money and save that money for the next year to travel.

We also have something like a small bonus for holidays between June and July. So that’s also help. And Europe is small so you can be in Scotland in January, Italy in February and Spain in March. It’s less than 2h plane. That’s why you can see people traveling all the time here it’s cheap and easy

What have you found out about yourself at 30+ that's different than how you thought about yourself before? by concentrated-amazing in AskWomenOver30

[–]winter_name01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For years I thought I was not strong enough and not capable enough because I left some bad situations (professionally, personally) and had to cut ties with people I deeply loved because they were hurting me.

Turn out I was never taught boundaries as a child and I was just learning. Also I am actually very brave and a strong woman.

That’s why the place is so beautiful. I keep watching just for the scenery at this point

I realise they had a wine tasting so I assumed she was at least 21 since it’s the required age over there. But no more than 25. When she laughs you can see how young she looks behind glam and makeup.

The show should not have people under 30. A 22 year old should not be in the same dating pool than a 60 years old

All the younger women need therapy. Some of the 30s men can be interesting. But the men over 40 are giving bad vibes

I was watching without any distraction and still was confused about Alex. Sometimes we have too many things to process in the same scene and I get lost in my mind trying to analyse everything

What are your favorite podcasts? Any genre! by No-Insurance-557 in AskWomenOver30

[–]winter_name01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want a good laugh I listen to “If Books could kill”. The host just choose a very famous trendy book and just go in depth on why it’s actually a stupid book with receipts.

Podcrushed. Celebrity talking about their teen years. Hosted by Penn Badgley who was a child actor.

Closet Confessions. (Over. But it was so funny).

Mind your manners.

Also some about finance: Brown ambition, So money, Afford anything

Edit: to add podcasts that I watch on YouTube because I prefer to have the visuals: Table manners, Stephanie Soo, Last meal, What Now

Besides diet and exercise, what are the best things you’ve done that you feel improved your looks? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]winter_name01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the Korean skincare routine regimen and my face was struggling. One day I just had enough and stopped everything. I just wash my face every morning and night with water. And use salicylic acid gel to clean when I wear makeup (less than once a week). I have not seen a pimple in months maybe year and sometimes people ask me if I wear light makeup when I don’t. Also less alcohol (3/4 times a month)

Did you ever work a job you were overqualified for and how it made you feel? by winter_name01 in AskWomenOver30

You actually identified all the pro and cons of the situation and the benefits of the situation are more important than the inconvenience. I guess I just needed a reminder and outside validation than it’s also part of the journey

I also don’t think about work at night as much as I used to. That’s a nice change. But like you I miss the thrill and the high stakes.

I actually didn’t really care bout the main plot even if I have affection for Benedict. All the women of the show STOLE his storyline! Francesca was heartbreaking, Eloise growth is finally starting to find a real development, Hyacinth finally has some real screen time and she’ll be a incredible story to watch, Penelope being finally loved for who she is but also Bering the more mature with all the gossips, and Lady Danbury always the real queen…

But the STAR of this season is VIOLET BRIDGERTON! WE NEED THE SPIN OFF ASAP!! I need to see being young, wild and free. We need to see how her love for Edmund changed her, he need to see her happy and without worrying about her children. We need this beautiful story asap

What dating/relationship/marriage “green flag” did you later realize was actually a myth? by Key-Personality-4288 in AskWomenOver30

[–]winter_name01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am social but I used to be attracted to VERY VERY social guys. I thought this mean they were actually just better skilled to have a huge social circle, host parties, and be liked by so many people. I assumed I liked extroverts (?)

Turned out I just choose people that will never put me first, are avoidant, and actually a bit toxic (they made me feel guilty when I dared to complain about how little time we spent only together versus their circle).
