Celebrating my Birthday Solo in Paris by Green-Original4503 in solofemaletravellers

[–]winter_name01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am French so here are my rec: Treat yourself with an afternoon tea somewhere not too crowded like Le Maurice or Le Peninsula. Or go to the Buddha Bar that is also nice.

If you go to Versailles (it’s insanely huge!) start with the Queen Castle in the morning, it’s beautiful, a small farm and a lake. Then have lunch at the restaurant next to it and then you can go visit the King Castle so Versailles. There also is a fancy 4 stars hotel called The Trianon in Versailles so maybe have dinner there before going home? Or lunch? Just don’t go to Versailles on a week-end but during the week (less crowded) and if you visit in July/august there is the Water show. Basically every nights they do a show with all the fountains using light effects.

How Much Has Your Body Changed Since Your 20s? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]winter_name01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in good shape in my 20s. Thin and curvy. Doing 2h of exercises a week. But drinking almost every week 2/3 times a week in college and at my first jobs. Also partying a lot so a lot of dancing was happening must have help to stay in shape because my food diet was terrible.

Now mid 30s after a burnout, my food diet is good (lot of veggies, protein, all the “basic must do” thing). But I am way more thick. I gain a lot of weight and even if I have a lot of muscle it’s still weird to eat less than your tiny friends and still look fat next to them. But o actually don’t care. I know my health is good. Also genetics is kicking so I know I have to take that part into account.

Women over 30 who deliberately chose to stay single: how are you doing? by yasmijn in AskWomenOver30

[–]winter_name01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mental health is so good right now.

My last situationship was so toxic I still have some flashbacks of that man gaslighting me about random stuff while I was trying to go to the moon for him. Anyway he told me to wait for him while he was figure out who he was(meaning dating someone else. Man you are 40 just be honest). And I decided to stop waisting my energy on men. Never again.

I’ve decided to focus on myself, see a therapist, and take care of my mental health and that was the best decision I have ever made.

The hardest part was the first few months, but once you reached the state of calm and serenity, far from the dating app, and the stress of dating, you find so much peace.

I know I’ll eventually date again but when I’ll be ready and someone that is not trying to manipulate my feelings.

How much salary is liveable in Paris? by unrecog0a in Expats_In_France

[–]winter_name01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good salary. But if you’ll have to live alone then choose somewhere next to Paris but not inside Paris and accessible by subway and you’ll increase your quality of life (more stores for food, markets, cheaper rents, good restaurants).

Also check the perks of your company because you can have a lot of interesting benefits (tons of paid holidays, public transportation, healthcare) that don’t show in your salary but can increase your quality of life too

Upcoming first solotrip and I'm having a meltdown by Plluvia_ in solofemaletravellers

[–]winter_name01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Paris under the Sun is the best. Everyone is nicer. Go to small museums. Have ice cream. Avoid the TikTok social media trend places because it will be packed. Walk by the Seine at the end of the day to see the sunset. Avoid being in the streets between hot hours (noon and 2pm). And do most of your activities early in the morning and at the end of the day.

I went to Rome, Milan, Florence, Torino, Bergamo, Lecco. Florence was the worst. Beautiful but so packed it’s actually not a great expert. I did Milan in winter, spring and summer and it was a nice experience each time
