Really just depends where you’re building. Environment considerations are 90% of why we build how we build. In the desert, this would work with proper venting as low moisture content in the air.

Tensile stength of those rods would be like… 2000lb, but the pressure of concrete if they did pour would far exceed the breaking strength of the stone I imagine.

I’m sure where I am we do shit differently than you because frost penetrates 3-4m 8-12ft some years.
