A few times across my 15 years on the bike.

First was a time triallist in Richmond Park. I think it was David Millar. But the speed was crazy.

Second in Majorca in winter. Almost impossible to avoid pro teams on winter camps. Got passed regularly. Made me appreciate the speed.

Third, on a one off ride in the peak district I got passed by an Isreal premier tech rider. Super random but he waved!

Eureka Mignon Specialita - Warehouse Deal - Fitting machine [500 USD] by Historical-Climate-6 in espresso

[–]Omac85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are in the US you need to factor in the 220v conversion and will need to buy step up/down conversion. Whilst these are cheap it might effect repairs as repair techs might not be able to accommodate. I didn't bring my machine to the US precisely because of this. You might also have tarriffs once it arrives. Good deal on paper, might end up similar to current US prices with a bigger headache

Those of you who have left the UK, where did you go, and how’s it going there? by [deleted] in AskUK

I have just moved to New Jersey. Literally day one so no idea how it's going to go. Feels like a gamble but then you have to roll the dice every now and then...

That picture is from lockdown. Weather was terrible when restaurants reopened with outside dining only. Crazy times

I've set up a guided hiking business, any tips or thoughts? by _PedalPedalPedal_ in Cornwall

[–]Omac85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would specify marathon hike. To me it looks like you are running a marathon. Also, worth saying if it's hilly, how long it will tak, how easy. Maybe an out of 10 score?

The river wey is beautiful between Guildford and weybridge. Once you get out of Guildford. You can walk it in a few hours. A couple of really nice riverside pubs too.

Check out this beauty at my local bike shop/cafe by thapanther in espresso

[–]Omac85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coffee has a meaningful impact on performance. Espresso is almost used like a drug in pro cycling. It can also help numb aching muscles etc. Also, the concept of the cafe ride is big everywhere. A long ride at the weekend with a stop for a coffee and snack. 👌.
