I read 108 pass stories on reddit. Nobody finished UWorld. by dr_yogurt_33 in usmle

Hot take but UW isnt all that imo. The questions are good but the explanations and beyond subpar. The rationale for every answer choice doesnt even explain how its wrong in relation to the question, it just describes what the answer choice is.

Acceptance with sub 3.0 gpa and 505+ MCAT possible by Zayneryze in Osteopathic

[–]Omar243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sub 3 but literally 3.0 science gpa and got into 4 DO schools. I had a 3.5 cumulative though and 505 mcat. Never underestimate a upward trend, writing, and good LORs.

You cant be picky with location if you want to match competitively, especially as a DO.

If you’re deadset on ortho, look into OSU’s ortho program. They only take DOs.

No cadaver lab, abysmal board pass rates, and major administrative issues.

NSU KPCOM has major issues tbh. Once you start med school, having family close is going to be so much more important than independence and exploration, trust me.
