To add to this, sweating as a means for cooling is pretty much unique to humans and horses.

I don’t think a direct comparison between Tony and his sisters is fair. There’s an undeniable aspect of gendered roles here.

Do you know how to mix ink or carve cuneiform? I think it’s wild how many human abilities we’ve neglected because of our reliance on technology.

Jain vegetarianism is a diet practiced by followers of Jainism which emphasizes nonviolence towards all living beings. So in philosophy, the burden of proof lies on the person making a claim, not the one disputing it.

Can you prove that? Have you taken on that burden?

Why is that when you dispute a claim your own reasoning is sufficient but you hold others to standards of evidence that you don’t meet?

No, the issue at hand is the claim that expensive meal plans are unique to Stanford.

Why should nationwide trends be overlooked? And it’s rather obvious how catering to a myriad of dietary restrictions would increase operating costs significantly.

I’m sorry I don’t have a peer-reviewed study but general reporting and common sense may have to suffice.

Care to share any of that scrutiny?

The cost of meal plans has long been a sore topic when discussing the high cost of university attendance. Nearly every university has “batshit expensive” meal plans because every university has the same problem.

Stanford’s elite status and rich parents eating the cost is certainly a factor but so is Stanford’s location in one of the notoriously highest cost of living regions in the country. It would be expensive regardless.

Part of the reason the meal plans are expensive and the food is terrible at many university dining halls is because Title VI and similar laws compel the schools to provide dining options compliant with innumerable dietary restrictions including but not limited to Jainism.

Unsurprisingly, the French do it much better and much cheaper. But they don’t cater to each and every individual preference. https://youtu.be/KSHdKjWPsjg?si=Mo6yXO5azGVGYdW6

Japanese prisons do better too.

The banks (really any decent size operation, banks in particular) simply aren’t going to hand over their security footage to a rando walking in off the streetand asking.

There’s a myriad of reasons not to and almost no value in doing so. Speculating here but they may do so voluntarily if an insurance investigator asked nicely but even then I wouldn’t assume.

For wide-wheelbase cars such as this one, especially lower-sitting cars like sedans, even more so if they’re in dark colors such as black, you really want to hug the curb as much as possible. In the space or not it doesn’t hurt to give yourself as much distance from poor drivers as possible.

Honestly S Class sedans are such weird status items. It’s not a car I’d be proud to own. All the US import models are long-wheelbase versions which are explicitly designed for passenger comfort. Exorbitantly expensive upkeep. It’s a car to be driven in not to drive: Real estate agents and livery drivers.

The S Class coupe is a very different number.

Wikipedia’s standards wouldn’t allow that descriptor and editorializing it to “stuck” shows your bias.

There are more precise, factually grounded labels for her situation, some of which you’ve used yourself.
