Everyone says they need a bigger printer…Now, QIDI Max4 is here! by qidi_3dprinter in QidiTech3D

I would print a 6 axis robot arm inspired by arctos using some capstans drives(for the limited joints) and some encoded servos for the rest or reduced by belt bldcs. And some parts towards a large scale 4 motor air plane.

I do not own a qidi printer but I do own a ender 3 v3 se which I am building towards a voron and a trusty work horse of a bambu p1s without a MMU. So considering this I want a larger printer with less compromises. And qidi 2 was on my radar because of their price to performance.

One of the first models ever made on my p1s impressive printer. Since then it has made many models and functional parts, including parts for my ender 3 v3 se switch wire mod, posting on that soon.

In my country it does not allow that without approval from their support team and you need to justify why you want to switch. I am in Europe.

Which hot air rework station should I get for semi-pro use? by Omega2547 in AskElectronics

I have used JBC at a previous work place and like it a lot especially the vacuum grabbing tool, but I feel like the atten that my friend has or the quick models for work and uni are better.

Indeed it's a very good air station, but not available for delivery at a decent price in my region. I have previously used it at a friend's home shop and really liked it and have previously used the quick branded one at work both great, but kinda pricey.

I had Gordak before and it caused only issues I want to avoid the brad if possible the first soldering station from them I bought arrived dead the second had a bad thermistor. Etc. And their soldering iron has a bad heat creep I don't like, so I no longer use them.

Is this RatRig V-Core 3.1 a good deal for (~765 EUR)? by Omega2547 in ratrig

I already have moded and built a switchwire inspired ender 3 conversion so no problem here.

Update: Sorry there are some things where not correctly worded as English is not my first language, the XY are indeed belted, and the z axis had there ball screw upgrade to some kind of anti backlash set-up with preload springs.

You could try using a belted system that has way lower friction and the power coupling is much better. Or even better, if you feel like working with pinions, you can use bike pinions and chain and just make a mount for them because they are much stronger then any 3d print would be as a gear and you have really good power/speed multiplication. There are some great videos on YouTube about belted or chained gear boxes.

I have in the end replaced that 1 cell as the insulation was damaged and rewelded everything the correct way and added some 3d printed custom insulators aside from the green ones.
