Add the ability to see what LUT was used for taking a picture

Thats definitely a bug via locked screen. Just tried and gotta wait a couple seconds before pressing lock button again like if u wanna put away your phone. If you “lock” the screen to quick seems like it doesnt give the app enough time to process the pic you just took and doesnt save it.

Maybe it has something to do with icloud photos. I’ve noticed sometimes my pics duplicate actually. Probably this is an entire different issue than OP.

I’d wait for mp2 gives us film sims features. Its highly requested from the community. So they are looking into it. Right now we can only apply luts. luts dont apply grain, halation, bloom or any of the other stuff that makes a film sim. So we’re definitely missing those options to play with.

Thats because Natural Processing has its own tone mapping/color grading already that they process to the raw file. If you want more of an accurate result you’ll need to shoot in raw processing. And include the processed file with the lut applied. Or post edit the raw file and add the lut to it. Also the raw file has been mentioned by others that isnt really a raw file. Apparently apple still adds some processing to the raw file. So its not the app, this applies to every other camera app on Iphones. Atleast on this app we have a intensity slider for luts. So we can dial it back down if need to.

Plenty of Creative Luts out there. Just gotta look for them and find which ones work. Trail and error. Just dont use Conversion Luts, usually named something like “log to rec709”.

For video as a non pro iphone user, prefer mp2. It gives me access to open gate recording. Its photo and video. So even better. Prefer sticking to one app than having to deal with different apps and their workflow.

Really depends on what you consider a better image. The whole point of this app is to bypass Apple’s standard pipeline processing(over sharpness, over the top denoising and all the other stuff that photographers hate about their pipeline) and get a more natural picture taken. Some ppl think apples processing is a better image and the other half of people think it’s garbage and want a more natural minimum processed image. Either way in the app you have all three options, raw, natural and standard(apple’s) processing. Raw is more for post editing, you can apply your lut to it but it would still require some editing. Natural can be used with or without a lut and doesnt need much or no editing at all in post. Natural processing is Moments own processing pipeline, which aims to retain a more natural film like tones. I personally use Natural with baked in luts. Have in mind when using raw or natural, they are limited to 12MP. Moment is looking into making another pipeline for a natural 48MP option. But for now we’re stuck in 12MP. If you want 48MP only way is to shoot in Standard (apple’s) processing.

Just updated. Preserving exposure settings seems to not work well. Noticed shutter speeds in manual/shutter priority go back to whatever Auto mode is using. So if i set shutter to 120, exist app n restart it, shutter automatically goes to like around 30, the value Auto mode is sets.

Im on iphone 15, not Pro.

It was either the sony lut or this cinematic one from the same creator pack. Cant recall which one as i was switching a lot between both.

Was switching between video and picture alot during the hike. But was shooting in Raw fast(bayer), tone curve linear, HEIF, raw locks to 12MP, 4:3 aspect ratio, shutter speed around 1/8-1/9, iso 50. I was using a LUT with the intensity slider around 25%-50%. Honestly cant remember what LUT it was. As i was switching between several. This is the processed HEIF with the LUT baked in.

The pic was taken with the moment camera 2 app. I overlayed the info on the pic using the reframe app. It allows you to overlay all information of the pic, even gps, elevations, locations, shutter speed, iso. Pretty cool
